- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2023The third installment in the Lakeside Mountain Rescue series, featuring Sally and Tom. Sally is a midwife and Tom is an obstetrician, and this is their second chance romance. Their relationship ended very badly previously and both have harbored a lot of feelings about the other in the years since. Labor & Delivery is my background as I am a nurse, so I loved the medical aspects of this story.
These two can be a little bit hard to love at times, because their choices didn't always seem the best. For example, Sally came back to work directly alongside Tom even though he shattered her heart and caused her to run from town years before. Tom can be arrogant and Sally can be a bit wishy-washy. They spent a lot of time fake-avoiding one another and pretending to "be strong" without the other one. I still enjoyed it though. Sarah Morgan is the best. Her romances are like book crack to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A family series about a Lakeside area in the North of England.
I purchased this book because it was the concluding book of the "Lakeside Trilogy and I enjoyed the series very much. The tale was good reading in true Mills and Boon tradition, following a family series of medical staff plus the mountain rescue aspect of the series.Sarah Morgan is a very realistic author who I have followed for a very long time, I like her style of writing very straight forwards quite often with a family feeling to it and true to life,

4.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining story
So glad that some of these older books are being reissued. I've read most of the books in this series and was really looking forward to getting my hands, finally, on this one. I'd been intrigued by references to Tom and Sally in previous books, so I was quite interested in the circumstances pertaining to their relationship. Morgan didn't disappoint. I didn't immediately warm to Tom, but as the plot revealed more about his character, I became a fan. Very entertaining book and series. Rating: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read
Well written romance with characters you care about and plenty of background interest. So much better than the title suggests! A well rounded story in the series.
