About the author

At a very early age, K.A. Mitchell decided that Ken and G.I. Joe made a much cuter couple than Ken and Barbie and was perplexed when invitations to play Barbie fell off sharply. Today she still loves hanging out with imaginary friends and making up stories. Even better, people pay her to read about them. Now the author of over twenty gay romances, she guarantees happy endings for even the surliest of heroes, despite all their baggage.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2016It's been a while since I've read K.A. Mitchell, I don't know why, this was a great read.
There might not be anything terribly new here, but it was done very well, and I loved Ethan and Wyatt. I want the next book, now.
I have two complaints though -- where is information on the next book? And where on earth did the publisher find that cover? It is horrible. In fact I double-checked this was the K.A. Mitchell I'd read before and that it was Carina Press. Going by the cover I thought it was a cheap self-pub work from someone with the same name. Carina Press you're letting down the author and this story with that hideous cover.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2016Ethan and Wyatt were amazing as a couple. Some truly interesting situations happened in this book and it kept me reading until the very end. I will say, I read this book in 1 day. I think most will find it interesting. I understand there is more to come from these two and I look forward to it!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2017This was a really short story I liked. I really liked how the story started; after being dumped by his boyfriend that he followed to college (that he freaking followed to college) the moment he gets there, Ethan devised a plan for getting him back. That's how he met Wyatt; dark, mysterious, hoodie wearing guy, who also happens to be Ethan's ex's roommate.
It was fun getting to know the characters, especially the side characters. But what was more interesting was getting to know Wyatt.
I loved Wyatt, his character was so interesting, giving that it was my first time reading about a character like him. I liked finding out what made him tick along side Ethan. I loved reading about him (I think I said that already).
There wasn't much depth to Ethan's character, which was boring to read. I still loved him though.
The story had a really good plot twist, considering, the way the events unfold was really unexpected.
Overall it was a fun, sexy short read which was a bit of an emotional roller coaster and I can't wait to continue reading about them.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2019Really loved this book. Well developed characters. The sex scenes were tender, yet naughty...but not overly descriptive so I didn’t have to skim through them. The angst wasn’t too heavy which kept the tears at bay. I’m ready for book 2 now. 4.0 for rainbows 🌈

Ethan is excited to join his high school boyfriend at college, so he's blindsided when his boyfriend breaks up with him on day one. Heart broken, Ethan decides to get him back, and tries to get information from his ex's roommate to gain some insight. What Ethan doesn't expect is to start developing feelings of the sexual kind for Wyatt, the roommate.
I enjoyed this sweet MM romance book, but I didn't love. I found it hard to believe that after Ethan was so determined to get his boyfriend back, just to fall for another guy almost immediately (it was a matter of weeks after having been with the same guy for years). What ensued was a fairly sweet relationship development between Ethan and Wyatt with very minor issues between the two.
3 star reads are the hardest to review because while I enjoyed it, there's nothing to love or be upset about. It just is. I guess I hoped to feel a bit more from this one, but it was very low angst and like I said, any issues were very minor. And while there wasn't a cliffhanger the story wasn't over, and I probably won't continue reading this couple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly enjoyable.
Highly enjoyable. There is definitely insta lust, but I loved all the unusual little details that make the m/cs stand out, definitely a coming of age story, this is well worth a read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and so cute!! Need the next one.
"Actually, I didn't say anything, I backed him into the wall and started kissing him again. Hard, the way he liked it. The way I liked it. When your lips feel bruised against teeth and you can't catch your breath because there's a tongue deep in your mouth and there's nothing to think about but him."
So this is a college romance, we have Ethan who is finally going off to college, the college he picked that his boyfriend is at so they can be together again. Ultimately he "follows" his boyfriend. Cute, if not just a little naive, but totally cute right?
Totally! if his boyfriend Blake wasn't such a jerk that dumps him and continues to be a jerk.
"You know I love you."
"Yeah."
"But, Ethe, I don't love you like that anymore."
Is it weird that even though Blake's presence in this book really started to get on my nerves yet I still want him to have his own book?
*shrugs* I'm seriously intrigued to the WHY with Blake!!!
Anyway, then we meet Wyatt, mysterious, broody and kind of angry. Also he's Blake's room mate. Ethan and Wyatt don't hit it off right away, a lot have said this is bordering insta love but I mean I've read a lot of insta love/insta lust books and I just didn't get that here which isn't a bad thing either way! I mean there's an element of it but their relationship isn't that much insta love. Not for me anyway.
"...and I remembered whose mouth it was. It was Wyatt with his pouty lips and prickly attitude and suddenly it was better than good."
This is my first book by this author and I loved this book at the start, it pulled me in, I was smiling, laughing (Makayla is hilarious.I love her.), it was a fun time! Then too much Blake time, in Ethan's thoughts and in person. I get it, but it was starting to get too much. Still seriously want his book though. But then we get more of Wyatt and Ethan time which is a big yay!
Ethan and Wyatt are complete polar opposites. Ethan is positive, he may be naive at times but not that naive he's not stupid. Wyatt is angry, a little insecure and stand offish. There's so much more to Wyatt than we get to see. I really hope we get to dig deeper with Wyatt in the next book.
There's times when these two together are the cutest and then it's confusing and rocky between them. We definitely need to get inside Wyatt's head some more in the next installment. This was a really enjoyable read and have already one clicked another one of this authors books.

Wow this was so much better than I expected it to be!
It's NA but it's sweet, funny and heavy on the sexy side NA.
I really liked Ethan and Wyatt and I loved that they were not all muscled up with perfect bronze skin. They weren't perfect specimens by any means, they were real and that made them all the more attractive to me.
I loved Ethan's voice and I especially adored Wyatt in all his social awkwardness.
It's kinda Insta-lovey and you have to take a leap to believe that Ethan goes from desperately trying to win Blake back to oh I want Wyatt quite so quickly but none of that took away from my enjoyment of the story.
It's well written, funny and cute. The characters are great and the secondary characters are likeable too.
A pet peeve of mine...it finishes at 86%. I hate that.
However...there will be a sequel and I absolutely can't wait.
It left me with a sappy smile on my face and a serious case of the warm fuzzies.
