Haunted Hotels of Northern Colorado (Haunted America) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 7 ratings

Join the supernatural guests who have extended their stays from Denver to Estes Park where the Stanley Hotel inspired Stephen King’s The Shining.

The haunted hotels of northern Colorado offer chance encounters with wispy apparitions from a fabulous century gone by. The Earl of Dunraven prowls in the night at the Stanley Hotel. Melancholy Carl haunts the halls of the Brook Forest Inn, and Eleanor James tosses pots and pans about at the Elkhorn Lodge. A little boy, tragically drowned, leaves watery footprints in the Hotel Jerome. Book a stay with author Nancy Williams as she explores Colorado’s iconic hotels where spirits aren’t confined to the bar.

About the Author

Exploring adobe forts and Anasazi ruins in Arizona as a kid whetted Nancy Williams's interest in western history. Moving to California's Gold Country was an opportunity to investigate a fascinating region and its colorful past. Her first magazine article was about a haunted Mother Lode hotel, and it was followed by many others and the book Haunted Hotels of the California Gold Country. After thirty-one years in the Golden State, she moved to Colorado.

The best in this Haunted America series! Extremely interesting and full of great history and ghostly goings-on. I'm absolutely enjoying this haunted series since I've been to many of these locations. Especially in Colorado. The Stanley is my favorite! I love reliving my memories since due to my age and medical problems I'll probably never be able to return. I very much enjoy this series because many of the authors make you feel as if you're right there again!

This did excite me. Learned a lot that I never knew and it was a bit spooky in parts. The people were interesting and the building history was especially interesting. I will read more of these I did enjoy it.

Fascinating book! My family and I enjoyed reading this book and visiting the hotels described within! Really enjoyed the author's ability to tell the stories and share her knowledge of the local history of these great old towns. We can't wait for the Southern Colorado version of this book to be released.
