The Cherished Quilt (An Amish Heirloom Novel Book 3) Kindle Edition
Tragedy tore Christopher’s world apart. But Emily believes there are enough pieces left behind to stitch together a beautiful new beginning.
Emily Fisher is eager to meet the new employee at her father’s shop in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. But when Christopher Hostettler arrives, his cold demeanor freezes her attempts at building a friendship.
Longing for a fresh start, Christopher travels from Ohio to Bird-in-Hand. Christopher’s heart is still wounded from memories of home, and making new friends is the last thing on his mind—he knows the pain that comes with losing those you love. When Emily is kind to him, he tries to remain distant, but he soon finds himself stealing glances at her throughout the day.
When Christopher shares his tragic reasons for leaving home, Emily decides to make a quilt for him as a gesture of their friendship. The two are quickly falling in love when a family emergency calls Christopher back to Ohio without warning.
Emily finishes the quilt, in spite of her pain. But when Christopher receives it, will he have the courage to follow his heart?

Q&A with author Amy Clipston
What common themes appear throughout your work?
My books always contain a theme of second chances and renewed faith in God. I hope that readers walk away from this book with a belief in new beginnings and a deeper faith that God provides for us and will get us through the storms in our lives.
What fascinates you about the Amish way of life?
I was always fascinated with the Amish when I was a child. I remember visiting Lancaster County when I was younger, and my father, who was a German immigrant, told me the Amish speak a dialect that is similar to my German relatives. I was drawn to their simplicity and their strong faith. Due to my German heritage, I feel a loose connection to the culture. I love how their culture is focused on family and God. I’m fascinated by how the Amish continue to keep their traditional ways while the world around them changes with the advances in technology. They are loyal to their culture, and they take care of each other.

Immediately into the story, Clipston grabs your heart by describing Christopher’s anguish, guilt and torment over the loss of his family member. You find yourself wanting to comfort Christopher and wanting him to find some happiness and sparkle in his life.
Your heart is also drawn to Emily, who clearly puts others before herself and while finds herself happy for her sister’s exciting times in their lives, also struggles with jealousy. Both characters exhibit feelings we can all relate to: Sadness, discouragement, happiness, and guilt.
This book tackles issues that most of us have felt at some point in our lives and you feel drawn to the characters, Emily and Christopher, while learning more about Emily’s sisters and the path their lives have taken. You can relate to the characters and long and wish for them to find the happiness they desire for.
The story is well written and does a great job of weaving in the stories from the first two books of the series. Although it certainly is helpful to read the first two books, it isn’t necessary as Clipston does a great job of summarizing them into Emily’s story.
This is certainly a page turner and keeps you engrossed in the story from the beginning to the end. You find yourself relating to the characters, getting frustrated over their decisions and yet understanding their feelings and emotions as if you were going through the experience and struggles yourself.
I would highly recommend this book to young adults and adults, those interested in romance, suspense and Amish Christian. This book will touch your heart and you will find yourself wanting to get to know Emily and Christopher more and more as the story continues.
Emily feels guilty for being jealous of her sisters' happiness and she wonders when it will be her turn for Love.

Chris arrives with deep pain from the loss of his brotherGabriel three months earlier. Chris feels responsible for the death of his brother andfather blames him for the accident as well . Chris comes to Bird-in-Hand for a fresh start and to make enough money to start over somewhere.
Emily is upset by Chris' attitude when she meets him at the harness shop where she keeps the books for her dad but she is drawn to him. Emily continues to pursue a friendship with Chris and he quickly realizes that he enjoys her friendship. Emily continues to encourage and help Chris through his feelings and their friendship starts to grow into something more. Chris opens up to Emily and shares that he misses the quilt his Grandmother made for him years ago. Emily makes beautiful quilts so she decides to make a lap quilt for Chris at of fabric that belonged to her Grandmother ( mammi ).
Chris wants to start a life with Emily but he would have to be baptized first and his feelings of unworthiness keep him from pursuing it. Chris decides to go home to Ohio to help his brother and he leaves without saying goodbye to Emily. Emily is so hurt and upset but she decides to send the finished quilt to Chris along with a letter. Will Chris decide that Emily is important enough to forgive himself and feel worthy of her love ?
Amy Clipston has done it again, she has written another Amazing book !!! Amy has a way of writing that pulls you in from the first page. She writes the characters and settings so well that you feel like you are truly right there. The whole series is wonderful but The Cherished Quilt is my favorite,I couldn't put this one down and I devoured every page in an afternoon. I love how she writes these books in which it sets up the storyline for the next book in the series. I look forward to the next book in the series which comes out in May.
