Agnetha Fältskog: The Girl with the Golden Hair Kindle Edition
Her iconic blonde looks, stunning voice and songs of loneliness and melancholy have endeared her to millions, yet Agnetha Faltskog remains an enigmatic and distant figure. From her success as a teenage singer and songwriter in Sweden in the late 1960 s to her years of global superstardom with pop giants ABBA and beyond, Agnetha has fascinated generations of fans. Her beaming smile graced record sleeves, television screens and magazine covers around the world yet never quite managed to conceal her natural shyness and vulnerability. Agnetha Faltskog The Girl With The Golden Hair is the first full-length biography dedicated to the life and career of the one of the most beloved and successful performers in music history. Charting Agnetha s journey from her early days fronting a local dance band in the small industrial city of Jonkoping, through her decade as one of the most famous and popular singers in the world, and the years of self-imposed exile that followed until her surprising and successful comeback in 2013, Agnetha Faltskog The Girl With The Golden Hair will delight her many legions of fans and any readers with an interest in the history of popular music."

- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2016I'm a huge ABBA & specifically Agnetha fan. Their music has gotten me through many rough patches in life and still does after 40+ years. I collect alot of their stuff but have bought very few books. I have five and two of those are essentially picture books with a history of the group containing standard information that most fans would know. One was a ABBA quiz/trivia book written by the same author as this Agnetha book, Daniel Ward, that I got a kick out of. My knowledge wasn't as good as I thought and I doubt I even got half the questions right! The other two books were unauthorized biographies. I usually avoid those like the plague because the person or persons being written about have not participated in the book. I especially didn't want to take a chance on books about ABBA because I wanted facts and not speculation and also feared the books would be unflattering to them. I have to say the two books I have bought surprised me, including this one.
Mr. Ward did a really fine job I feel. Some of the sources he cited were excellent, especially Ian Cole of the excellent ABBA Omnibus website, which is as good as it gets in my opinion as a source. I knew much of the background of her through the other biography I read but Mr. Ward filled in some blanks very nicely. I learned alot about her non-ABBA career and this interested me alot. The only minor criticism is when he covered the ABBA years it seemed mostly focused on the group and not so much about her. Certainly ABBA was a huge part of her singing career and had to be included but the focus was so much on the band it felt more like a biography of the group and not what the book was intended to be, which was about her. This in no way ruined the book as the five star rating proves but I would have liked to hear more about her during those ABBA years instead of so much about the other members and the manager. They have to be included of course but the book was about her and separate books could be done about the other members. I was more interested in hearing something like 70% her and 30% the band. Having said that the book is excellent and highly recommended. At <200 pages its a quick read and I would have liked more but what is there is very informative. Agnetha will always be my favorite performer as I really identify with her. She has always seemed like someone who is misunderstood and mistreated in terms of being accused of being a recluse or unfriendly. Fame can make it hard just to be yourself or have relationships. She is a terrific loving mother and just needed someone to love her and be her friend. We all crave that. I hope she still has some albums in her as I can't get enough of her perfect voice and her fans would agree I'm sure.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2018Mr Ward's book could have been great, but was only good, through no fault of his own. As with ABBA's demise, multiple failed relationships, and a mediocre solo career, this book's main limitation is Agnetha herself. Like so many others, I have been captivated by Agnetha's singular beauty, vulnerabilities, and voice. The God above and the world gave her so much, and I regret that she was unwilling, or unable, to give much back, especially in her later years. It is a consolation, perhaps, that she avoided the usual fate of music's greatest megastars. Kudos to Ben, Bjorn, and Frida, for their many accommodations to Agnetha, with all her phobias and frailties, along the way, and for eventually having to carry on without her. Otherwise, we must appreciate ten years of the best music ever written. After all is said and done, people have to be who they are, and just live with the consequences. In this, Agnetha excelled, and for that I send her admiration and gratitude for how she has blessed me.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2021Only for fans, but if you're reading a book about Agnetha Fältskog then you're obviously a fan, right? No book about this lovely woman could help but also be in large part a book about ABBA, and I found it very informative, particularly in regards to the solo work these people did not only before, but even during the years that ABBA was a group.
The author did not have any access to Ms. Fältskog, so little insight is provided as to her later reclusiveness, nor the odd relationship with a former stalker. But there's plenty here for the fan to digest and enjoy, and I recommend the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2020I have been an ABBA fan for over 30 years, and have enjoyed learning things about all members of the group, so when I found this book, I had to read it. I enjoyed it very much. Besides the information about Agnetha, the book goes into detail about all members of the group. This book made me an even bigger fan, and enlightened me about their pure genius.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2020The most extensive insight into the incredible life of one of the most beloved women on earth. Agnetha Faltskog lived a partial storybook, celebrities dream life and a partial saddest story imaginable life. This book shares it all. Honestly and with no added fluff. If you are a Agnetha fan you will come away with such a feeling in your heart and soul for this wonderful sweet woman you never though possible. I have read it now 4 times and undoubtedly will again. Enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2021I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written, authentic story of Agnetha's life and career. No media slander here, but a thoughtful, warm and respectful treatment of the events that have shaped her, with plenty of personal insights from Agnetha herself. Although she has written her own biography, perhaps to counter
The false sensationalism perpetuated by the unethical media about her personal life, I have to believe that Agnetha is happy with Daniel Ward’s story.
Some readers complain of too much emphasis on Abba years, and the other Abba band members, but I felt enriched by every bit of the greater story which is part of the fabric of Agnetha’s colorful life and legacy.

5.0 out of 5 stars AGNETHA FALTSKöG. INCREDIBLE DETAILS OF HER PERSONALITY, LIFE AND CARREER. AMAZING AND LOVELY!
The only effective and true way to really discover the personality, incredible skills, and carreer of the Goddess of Pop. Agnetha Faltskog The Girl with the Golden Hair is plenty of details of her life, even on her early years of chilhood.
An excepcional woman with the most beautiful voice of all times. Her voice describes her: smooth as velvet, strong as diamond. Wonderful book. A very important contribution to the history of 60s and 70s music.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the most honest book about Agnetha that I have ever read. After reading it. I always used to think fame a d the up and down life she has led turned her into some kind of foreclose. But that's what the press turned her into. She is very humon
I was told by a friend it was a good to the point read. ? And well written. And it is. I highly recommend this book.

Gave plenty of background to a genuine star with just as much about her fellow members of one of the world's most popular groups. Good read.
