Rush Revere and the Presidency Kindle Edition

4.9 4.9 out of 5 stars 3,162 ratings

Join Rush Revere on another action-packed journey! Rush and his friends head back in time to the early days of our independent nation to watch the early American presidents George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson in action!

Hey there, young readers! Rush Revere here. I can’t wait to rush, rush, rush to history with our next adventure: a trip back in time to the first days of our country on its own two legs, free from British rule—

What’s that, Liberty?

Liberty wants me to say on its own
four legs.

Anyway, as I was saying—free from British rule and creating a new government for the people, by the people. When one of the time-traveling crew from Manchester Middle School decides to run for student-body president, I take them back to meet our first three presidents and first ladies.

So, join us as we head back to those amazing and important first years, when we got to make all the decisions. Turns out, it’s pretty hard to lead a whole new country! We had to make new rules for America and set the path for the country we would grow up to be. And who better to be our first-ever leader than the general who won the war—George Washington!

He was the father of our country and made some incredible decisions that still affect how we live our lives today! But even so, President Washington knew that he couldn’t stay president forever or we might end up with a king, just like England.

We’ll watch as he makes his tough decision to step down to spend more time with Martha Washington and his adopted grandchildren, Nelly and Wash.

Then we’ll saddle up and ride into the presidency of John Adams, who followed in some very big footsteps with the help of his accomplished wife, Abigail. Then we’ll rush, rush, rush to the year 1803, when Thomas Jefferson continues the mission of creating America by making a risky decision to buy a lot of land from the French in the Louisiana Purchase, which more than doubles our size!

Using advice from the early presidents, first ladies, and a former U.S. congressman, the crew works to defeat an old nemesis. The question is— will it be enough?

What are you waiting for? Bring your curiosity and let’s giddyup!

About a year ago, we bought the first Rush Revere book for our then 12 year old son. He's not really into chapter books without pictures or cartoons (think Diary of a Wimpy Kid), and he's a super big reader, so we were a bit hesitant to buy the first book in the Rush Revere series because we weren't sure that he would read the book. We just wanted to help him learn about the history of the United States and why we have such an amazing and wonderful country that blesses the world.

He gobbled up the first book and asked if this was a series book. We bought the second one, and within about a year, he had the whole series. He LOVES this series more than any other collection we have. I've read them as well, and they are fun, snarky, and they teach the values and stories that made America the greatest country in the history of the world.

I used it as a gift to my grand children to help them learn American history.

Rush Limbaugh book is great for kids who want real American history, not a revised version. My 7 year old loves being read the book and looks forward to the day he can read it as well. Buy it if you consider yourself a patriot. Pay it if you want to experience real American history. Don't read it if you are anti American! You won't like it!

We've ordered all the Rush Revere books for our kiddos and we love them. Perfect for individual reading or out loud/group reading time. Wonderful stories with the history of our country woven in. Great for kids ages 7-17

Once again a very well written and historically correct story for kids of all ages. The time traveling horse and familiar crew of kids experience special and inspiring moments with our first three presidents and their spouses. I've read all of the Rush Revere books and look forward to reading them to my grandson when he is old enough. The story line on this "episode" seemed a little less cohesive, but I grant some of that to the wealth of information about our founding fathers, the challenges faced by the presidents, and the character Cam's effort to run for class president of his middle school. I highly recommend this and all the Rush Revere books, especially to be shared with our youth. Unfortunately our children today have little knowledge of how special our country is, and how it was founded. Most don't realize that it is the only country in the world that was founded for individual freedom and not for the benefit of the government as in most other countries.
