Fool's Luck (A Manhattan Dream Book 1) Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 12 ratings

Amy McKinsey had everything going for her except for that one small thing … a serious case of bad luck.

Amy had a great job at Glitz, a lifestyle and fashion magazine in Los Angeles. With a promising career in marketing, great friends and a fabulous wardrobe, it diverted attention from her being a magnet for mishaps.

Her job was on the right track until her new boss, Sarah, a beautiful and vicious young socialite with zero work experience arrived on the scene, determined to wreak havoc on the marketing department starting with Amy’s job.

Beaten down and disheartened by Sarah’s daily verbal assaults, Amy pursued her dream job at Weisman Publishing in NYC in hopes of a new beginning. Was it possible to leave her misfortunes behind?

Thank you for stopping by. I'm Engy, a native LA gal now living in New York. I'm a mom, a wife, an amateur chef, yogi and a bookworm. I believe that with hard work and determination, all things are possible.

I started my career in the entertainment industry and years later, I worked in brand consulting. Some of the interesting personalities I met along the way have inspired the characters in my books. But more importantly, every character and experience has led me to the next chapter in my journey and instilled a deeper sense of gratitude. When I'm not writing, you'll find me outdoors or in my kitchen cooking.

I currently reside on Long Island, New York with my husband, two kids and puppy.

One of my favorite quotes is from Anne of Green Gables, "Kindred Spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world."

Fool's Luck: who hasn't had a major faux pas at some stage of their lives? Amy appears to be seriously accident prone, and yet Lady Luck smiles on her. When despite her insecurities, Amy takes a chance on a new life, she is pleasantly surprised. However, her good luck doesn't comes easily. Along the way she is faced with what seems insurmountable problems. Her determination wins the day and one can only bow to her bravery. I received a copy of this installment in the life of Amy as a gift and this my honest review.

This is a quick read that you can take with you if you are going on a car trip or to lunch. I enjoyed reading it. It is the story of Amy and how she decides to take back her life. She has a job that she really doesn't like because her boss is simply NOT NICE. So she actively starts looking for her dream job and things start falling into place. This is that story. I really enjoyed reading it.~ShweetSandi
