Liz Aneloski has been quilting since 1981. Her love of quilting began with her first class, which she took as a creative outlet while she stayed home with her two young daughters. The class opened the world of fabric and quilting to her. She especially enjoys trying new techniques that extend just beyond basic traditional quilting. Liz has been an editor at C&T Publishing since 1991. She lives in California with her husband; her two almost-grown daughters are not far away.

Several of the blocks measure slightly less than measured, so I would advise making a test block first. (Or add a border!) I checked with my quilting group to make sure it wasn’t just me that is off. I really love the product though. It’s very well laid out and has great info otherwise!

The directions in this book are easy to follow. I love how many different blocks (and varying sizes of each block) are provided, the specific dimensions needed to cut each piece to form the blocks, and the different projects ideas displayed — everything from table runners to baby blankets to twin-full-queen-king sized quilts. I'm using this book to practice cutting techniques. Along with other members of my quilting bee, we are creating a different block each month to use in a sampler quilt at year-end.

I am pretty new to quilting, so I am often at a loss as to how common blocks are put together & how much yardage it would take to complete a project. This little book helps in so many ways: 1) block ideas!; 2) putting things together -- you can either use the "list" as given, or look at the diagram & figure out how to piece using "traditional" methods (i.e. half-square triangles will show up as cut triangles in the list, but if you don't want to piece that way, look at the diagram) & 3) fabric & yardage. While it's doesn't help you mix & match blocks like some other books, it's great for some basic blocks. Plus, it's spiral bound and will stay open.

This book is an excellent tool for any quilter trying to design their own quilt. There are over 100 quilt blocks, many of them familiar, but many not. The book gives how to construct each block in multiple sizes and how to use the block to either use it in a project, or how it might look in multiples, which helps identify secondary patterns. It's the perfect tool for a quilter looking for traditional quilting designs.

Si eres principiante es una muy buena herramienta, al principio me costó un poco de trabajo entenderlo pero no pasó mucho y le agarré la onda perfecto.
Ya he hecho varios proyectos y salen muy bien y nunca había hecho patchwork antes

This book arrived 3 days earlier than expected. What a joy! I’m so excited! I’m new to quilting, I’ve made a basic square play quilt but was confused about more complex patterns, this book is a breathe of fresh air. I now can’t wait to get started, but need to calm down and decide what to plan. It’s given me the “I can do this” attitude. Love it!
