Beatrix Potter is one of the world’s best-loved children’s authors, capturing our imagination for over 100 years with her beautifully illustrated Tales. However, few people are aware of the fascinating woman that Beatrix was or the achievements she accomplished in her lifetime, during an era when ambitious women were not allowed to flourish. An artist, storyteller, botanist, environmentalist, farmer and businesswoman, Potter was a visionary and a trailblazer and left an incredible legacy.

From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood.

Since 1984 more than 150 million Beatrix Potter books have been sold around the world, whilst over 2 million Beatrix Potter books are sold every year worldwide – so one Beatrix Potter books sells somewhere in the world every 15 seconds!

A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.

I just downloaded Miss Moppet - the one with the Read, Play, Learn on the cover - and really enjoyed reading it with my daughter. We were pleasantly surprised to discover a "Play" link at the end of the book that took us to a bunch of activities with Miss Moppet! My daughter spent a long time on the memory game and dot-to-dot, and after trying the quiz we went back and re-read the story again... A great book that I loved as a child and very happy to see has been expanded to include all these other fun add-ons!

We're quite fond of Ms. Potter at our house. And this is a cute and very short tale of a Kitten and Mouse 'teasing' one another. At first Mouse looks to have the upper hand, and then the tables turn. Or do they?

THE STORY OF MISS MOPPET makes a very nice read aloud. Particularly on those nights when you're tired but promised a story. It's wonderfully short.

The only problem is, Alas!, there are no pictures with this ebook. [And here I am talking about the ebook with the Amazon number: B004UJSIMO.[

Since the pictures that go with this story are so cute, you might want to consider finding a book that includes them. (Even if you have to pay. (don't forget the library))

I am a picky mom of 3 (4 yrs, 2 yrs, 1 mo) who is particular about what my kids read/hear/watch. I love Potter books because I was in love with them as a child. This is a fun story of a kitten who plans on trapping a mouse (no worries no mice were harmed in the writing of the story!). My little ones enjoy it, even without illustrations so save yourself the $6 and download this free version! :)

This book is missing the pictures on my Kindle Fire. Only the text appears. Amazon and Kite Press clearly have no quality control whatsoever. This lack of quality control is giving Amazon, Kindle, and digital publishing a bad name.

    Please FIX!

I couldn't find any other way of complaining to Amazon. I want my 0.99 cents back.

Not quite a great ending. I WOULD purchase more books if I felt that the publisher wasn't so cheap. I recommend looking for "If you have a hat". Well delivered free book and the quality enticed me to buy other books and pay fully for them.

I got this one for free as a deal today and I think it was well done. No image issues for us. On my Kindle Fire this book appears as a horizontally set picture book with a main white background. The text is part of the image and done exactly as I like in digital picture books. Will be looking for more of these, especially the Classics.
