    Talk about crazy intense drama. Omg, this book really had me in an uproar. Finnan seems like the devil himself. The crazy this greed put his kids through just remain in power was unnecessary. He killed and torture so many people lives or was crazy. I give Axel credit for going after him to put an end to his dictatorship. Axel's brothers were so brainwashed they couldn't tell which end was up. Overall, great book. Seriously intense.

    In the contemporary (erotic-ish) romance genre, Black Sheep comes in at a strong two to three stars. Cleo and Axel are the children of warring gangster type neighbor families that were friends-ish before they weren't. When things go sour, Cleo and Axel are torn apart in unforgivable ways. A disgusting villain has manipulated them both. They are thrown together once again, but will they be able to forgive the past and open up to each other before it's too late?

    On the pro side: Fast-paced, page-turning madness that engrosses you. Hot, steamy intimate scenes that will have your heart racing. An alpha, ultra-protective, ultra-possessive hero. A second chance love story. Childhood lovers reunite. Dark and noir feeling.

    On the negative side: The story felt rushed and undeveloped. There was little (to no) character development or complexity. The plot had the potential to be very rich but seemed like a paper-thin background. The heroine is thrown about like a rag doll, quite literally an object for the hero and the bad guys to scoop up/dress/arrange. It made it hard to respect their relationship because of it. A lot of bizarre, not-likely circumstances that were just unbelievable. Hanging plots lines/unexplained events (how in the heck did Cleo go to college? When? No one noticed her circumstances in those four years?).

    If you like your stories light on plot/development, but rich in alpha-possessive-males and steamy intimacy, this is for you... especially if you like your heroines to be the recipient of all of this but nothing more. In the broad range of romances, this is more of a one to two star. As a contemporary, new adult ish, erotic type romance, it's more of a three star.

    Another fantastic story from Zara Cox . It's well written with a good storyline with lots of hot steamy sex throughout . As it's about the mafia it gets a little dark in places . The two main characters are Axel who is considered the black sheep of his mafia family which is run by Finnan who is his father and Cleopatra who is the only daughter of another mafia family whose father does some business with Finnan . Since meeting Axel & Cleo have been attracted to one another and when they were old enough they took it to the next level , but her parents especially her mother didnt like Axel . Finnan is a tyrant & a brutal bully and rules his family accordingly , if anyone does not comply to his wishes they are visciously beaten into submission or simply disposed of , and that goes for his children and his wife when she was alive . Finnan wants Axel to join the millitary and Axel who is not as compliant as his siblings tells his father no . In the end though Axel is forced to join after he receives a viscious beating from his father & brothers . In the meantime Cleo's father does something to anger Finnan &both her mother & father mysteriously disappear . Events take another turn for the worse after Axel leaves to start his millitary service , Cleo is forced to start a sexual relationship with Finnan . Axel finds out when his father sends a film of the event to him . He is enraged and vows to get his girl back & destroy his father in the process . It's a story that will grip you from start to finish and of course the ending is perfect .

    Great story and all the characters were good as well .. Axle dark and brooding Cleo. Wrapped in her own pain . Childhood sweethearts and lovers torn apart . But to me it was a little dragged out because it took till the last chapter to unfold everything . But still some bit were missing . What about his brothers what happened to them What about her mother . So yes I felt like something was missing ... other than that we'll worth a read. .
