I highly recommend One Hour Marketing - The Entrepreneur's Guide to Simple, Effective Marketing for anyone in business for themselves. This is a very quick read (in a couple of hours) and clearly can help you identify your target market, come up with a plan of action as well as implement and track outcomes. Many entrepreneurs fly by the seat of their pants and hope things happen. Herman clearly lays out simple and effective ideas which are proven. His stories get you thinking about what you are trying to accomplish and most importantly - WHY. There's samples of real world examples and item lists to help implement for your own business or even personal goals. Imagine sitting down on a Saturday morning and by Sunday afternoon having an action plan to start he week off with. It's all about taking consistent little steps which takes you closer to your goal. Through your tracking you can tell if something is working. If it's not - change it. As Herman says in his book, reach out to him if anything doesn't make sense. He's very approachable and helpful. I've been in the Tech industry a long time. I can't tell you how much your book got me excited and re-ignited about my business! I also learned I had beliefs which held me back in which your book helped me re-evaluate. I can move forward with this new information.

    Very well written book that includes a concrete plan for effective marketing as well as the philosophy behind marketing and a list of the common misconceptions which deter many small business owners from marketing effectively, or at all. The author does an excellent job of articulating the necessity of a clear and organized approach to the concept of marketing as well as delivering an effective plan that even the greenest of business owners can implement with success. As the owner of a successful 14 year old business, I still found this book to be insightful and relevant. I can, and will, apply some of the authors basic principles to improve upon the marketing campaigns which my company currently utilizes.

    In this day and age, where markets are tight, competition is fierce and return on investment is crucial, the ROI of this book is about one of the best investments you can make to achieve real and immediate returns.

    This book is an excellent and must-have resource for all business owners. It is no-frill guide where the best of the marketing concepts have been concisely put together in an exercise format. Any business owner can go through the guide and the exercises and come up with an excellent and actionable marketing plan. I used to fear marketing and used to rely only on word of mouth. No longer! This book actually made marketing fun and something to look forward to! Highly recommended!

    Super book ---Pool does an excellent job of condensing all the steps for creating a marketing plan into a very fast read. Not having created any kind of marketing plan before, this book covered everything from how to figure out your target audience, realize what marketing options are available and how they work, and gave me the tools I needed to create a usable marketing plan in one afternoon. Definitely recommend to anyone starting a small business who doesn't want to spend a ton of time wading through a dense book on marketing.

    I read this book in the span of 2 days and put together a marketing plan that I look forward to executing. This book is brilliant. I love how Herman Pool explains marketing and all its moving pieces. There is an order to things and marketing is a science. This means that it works when done right. And it doesn't have to be overwhelming or hard. Thanks for making marketing simple!
