Review:
"A Texas Legacy Christmas" by Diann Mills was a wonderful Christian Christmas story and the fourth in this series that will keep you turning the pages until the end. We find Zack Kahler is returning to his hometown of Kahlerville, Texas to work at his local newspaper. However, he never knew that from a slip on ice would land him with two six year old twins. As the story goes Zack wallet is stolen and this is where this story really takes off. All I will say is that you will have to pick up "A Texas Legacy Christmas" to see how this author brings it out to the readers. It was a charming and exciting read. There will be some twist and turns with a bit of mystery only that helps bring the wonderful read of interest to the reader. I found all of the characters very appealing especially the hero and the heroine of this story and all in all a wonderful Christian story of family and love. We find this single man adopting twins...moving back to his hometown, meets a school friend Chloe...only leaving you to say wow that was some read. Again, you must pick this novel to see how everything will turn out because there may be a surprise at the end.
If you are looking for a good Christian romance you have come to the right place for "A Texas Legacy Christmas" will give it all to you and more. Would I recommend? YES!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2014What a heartwarming story. The author has such a way of telling her story, that I could picture the town, and all the people in this wonderful town. This is my first book by this author. I took a chance because the book was free. Didn't realize until I started, that it was the 3rd book in a series, but I never felt lost because I didn't start at the beginning of the series. That is a credit to the author, because I fell in love with all the character's, it will pull at your heart many times too. After finishing this book, I now want to read the first 2 books in the series, to see how the character's mentioned in this story came to find their own love for God and love for each other. This is a VERY CLEAN STORY, and it was special to read at Christmas time, but you will feel the love and message of the story anytime of the year. (ljb)
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2014Zach Kahler meets Curley and Charlie, six year old twins, in New York City when they steal his wallet and he is able to catch them before they can get away. When he learns that they are residents in a local orphanage, even though he is not married, he ends up adopting them. He then leaves NYC with the children and returns to his hometown of Kahlerville (named after an ancestor of his) which is a very small town in Texas. When he gets back to Kahlerville he is reunited with Chloe Weaver, a girl with whom he went to school. Chloe had fallen in love with Zach when she was only eight years old and was being teased by the other children because her family was very poor and she never had anything to eat for lunch. Instead of making fun of her, Zach very quietly brought extra food in his lunch so he could share it with her. He continued this right up until the day he graduated. Chloe is now working for a man who wants a personal relationship with her and he makes her life miserable when she tells him she wants to keep their relationship strictly business. There are no surprises in this book but it was a very sweet love story and I enjoyed reading it. I would anticipate that I will read this book every year around Christmas time.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2013This author has written a wonderful, clean -- no smut or vulgarity -- romance book for today. It is set in the early 1900's in NYC and Texas. A man accidentally gets involved with a set of 6-year-old twins! Then he adopts them. Well, you can imagine when he returns to his home state of Texas with no wife and 2 children, there were questions! I don't want to spoil the book, but I think anyone who enjoys this type book would really love this one. The author has breathed a breath of fresh air into the world of romance writing. I love that it is a wholesome, Christian romance book that I would not have a problem with my teenager reading. No worries in this book as to what they will be exposed to. I highly recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2013Ok, this was the 4th book in this series and its absolutely my favorite! If you read the others, you already know who Zach is and the problems he had in Lighting and Lace.
In this one, Zach is all grown up! But he's disillusioned with city life and can't wait to get back home to his family and small town. However bumping into a pair of orphaned twins who are master pickpockets, turn his plans and his life upside down! The two little redheads are currently runaways from the local orphanage, and thru a major misunderstanding between the nuns at the orphanage and Zach, he suddenly finds himself a father to the two little imps. So he finds himself heading home on the train with 2 small boys!
However,,, as they near home, it turns out, his 2 small boys are actually a boy and a girl!
This story is full of life as the twins fill the life of Zach and his large family with joy and excitement. And it doesn't hurt that Zach and the twins latch onto an old classmate of his who soon has all their hearts in her grasp.
Wonderful story! As I said its my favorite in the series. Normally I try and only get the free books, but I bought 3 of the 4 and I would do it again. I won't hesitate to purchase anything by this author. And there were no editing issues that I can recall - but I have to admit, I was so into all of these stories, I may not have noticed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Light-hearted historical romance
This book was an enjoyable and light hearted romance. The storyline was predictable and there was no detailed plot but the characters were likeable, and the twins particularly loveable. This was a feel-good romance with a solid Christian basis.
