About the Author

Sisters Donne and Ginny Geer have turned their passion for nail art into a way of life. Their own nail salon in Long Beach, California—Hey, Nice Nails!—serves as a haven for anyone seeking more than the average manicure. Fans outside of California can get their fix at the sisters’ Etsy shop that features custom and hand-painted acrylics, and from browsing their blog’s tutorials or their daily Instagram shots.

The young entrepreneurs have been featured in such publications as The Huffington Post, Allure, Marie Claire, StyleList, and MTV’s style blog, and they’ve been raved about throughout the happening nail-art blogosphere. This book has some really fun and neat ideas. My daughter loved looking through it and already tried some of the designs. It also provides great information on how to care for nails in general, tips for polishing/maintaining/etc., and things like perfect manicure, etc.. From that perspective, this book contained more valuable content than I expected. The only downside about this book is that some of the designs are difficult and it is not realistic to think that most lay individuals could replicate the designs. For more manageable and doable ideas get this book: Art: Easy, Step-by-Step Instructions for 75 Creative Nail Art... My daughter loved both books.

This is a really great book! Lots of detailed pictures and detailed information on how to achieve the looks. The best thing about the book is the fact that there are lots of different and unique designs that I've never seen or thought of. Can't wait to start trying some of them!

Really enjoying the book and experimenting with these looks, lots of ideas and pretty easy to try. There are some 3d components used in some of the designs though and no resource info on where to find them. For example one look relies upon these tiny cameos that you adhere to the nail but if you can't find this item you cannot really pull off the look.

This book is great it has a lot of ideas in it. It also shows you how to make the designs. You do need to buy the tools to do them. Like, nail brushes, nail striping tape, dotting tools, nail foil, nail polish, fimo art, glitter, paint and stickers. You can buy all of this stuff on ebay. It is a lot cheaper. You do have to wait a little while for your stuff, but it is worth it. You can also buy 500 nail tips for 4 dollars to do the art. You do have to practice some of the designs to get them right. It is always best to draw out on paper first. Then paint on paper. Then on nail tip. It is also easier to paint a set of nail tips before gluing them on. If you are looking for a good nail art book in English this is the best one. If you are wanting to learn how to do nails this book does not show you how to do that. It is just nail art. I really like this book. I give this book a 5 star rating.

My husband bought me this book as a gift. I love it. Yes, you can go online and look at all the nail art images, or watch youtube videos, but I enjoy cuddling up on the couch and flipping through the book to pick my next nail design. There are tons of fun designs in the book with step by step directions. It really makes a nice gift for anyone into nail art.

the reason for only 3 stars? in almost all of the photos? you can hardly see the nail detail, there are very few close up shots. In some cases? its almost impossible to view, hands are down, at angles that have you tilting the book, and trying to find a way to actually see the nail designs. So, even though there are some, what sounds like fun ideas? without really being able to view closely? pffffttttttt the book could be a lot better.

Got this as a Christmas gift for my younger cousin (she's around 15), along with a nail art kit. The book is great quality, and the designs are easy to do even for a beginner, and very cute! It gives tutorials on all the cute styles that are popular today. You'd never know they were really this easy to do! I definitely recommend.

I've been following @heynicenails (the sisters who wrote this book) for awhile now on Instagram and decided to order this finally! I am a licensed nail tech and I love that there are all different levels of nail art in here. Beginner to advanced. I learned a different way to do splatter paint nails and galaxy nails which is awesome! YouTube tutorials are good, but sometimes it's nice not having to keep pausing/playing a video, ya know?

I bought this book as a birthday present for my boyfriends sister, who is a self-confessed nail art addict. This is such a fantastic book for the budding nail artist, with lots of unusual and fun designs, many of which neither of us had seen before, so it made for a pleasant surprise! The quality of the photos is lovely, and the instructions are clear.

Fantastic beginners guide to nail art :)
