From the Author

Now Eleni understood the lineup of exes and "girlfriends" that had been appearing outside Gabriel's office in the last few weeks. It had taken every ounce of her willpower not to march in there and demand that he send them away. For Angelina's sake.
"Could you not see that they were just using Angelina like some stepping stone toward you?"
She saw it sink in. His jaw tightened. "And you,
Princesa? You do not have any purpose?"
His gaze promptly fell to her mouth, a languid stroke against her senses. "I told you--I have no designs on you."
"You knew who I was and yet you still kissed me."
"Because my requirements for that night were to kiss a man. You fit the bill. If you hadn't ripped my mask off, I'd have been on my way and no one--"
"If I hadn't ripped the mask off--" his harsh breath purred over her cheeks "--I would have been
inside you, right on that balcony, with your brother and half the world watching."
Gravelly and low, his words rippled over her skin. Places she shouldn't be thinking of throbbed with need. "Ripping off the mask was the only sensible thing that happened that night."
"I would have--" she licked her lips as if that could stave off the heat pouring through her "--stopped you. It wouldn't have gone that far."
His gaze held hers, amusement and something else glittering there. "Either you're very naive about men or you just like to lie to yourself." A rough exhale left his mouth. "And now I find you, of all the people in my life, bonded with my daughter."
Eleni pushed away from him, needing respite from that overwhelming masculinity. Respite from her own reactions. "Even your conceit can't be that great to think I befriended Angelina with some...underhanded intentions. Sitting in the stables by herself, she reminded me of myself."
"A Princess of Drakon, daughter to King Theos and sister to powerful Andreas and Nikandros--and I'm to believe you understand how Angelina feels? That you have to hide beneath a mask to find a man to kiss you?"

Tara Pammi can't remember a moment when she wasn't lost in a book, especially a romance which, for her, was much more exciting than the workings of an internal combustion engine. Before long, she was hiding romance novels within bigger textbooks, smuggling them into the home through her unsuspecting younger cousin's school bag, and cycling more than a few miles to her favorite library to borrow more.

One fine day, toiling away as a grad student in a basement lab, Tara started typing the beginning of a story instead of her thesis. But it wasn't until a Masters degree and two jobs later, encouraged by her real life hero, Tara realized what she truly wanted to do- Write!

Tara lives in the evergreen state of Washington with her real life hero and her two little girls. When she isn't writing or reading, Tara can be found failing in the kitchen, watching TV or making resolutions to exercise more, or even a little.

Book arrived on time, as promised. Was in perfect condition. Needed it to complete series. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the book immensely. Everyone thought Eleni was a pampered Princess, but she was lonely due to her overbearing brothers and her Father. She makes herself indispensable to all around her. The hero Gabriel does not want her love. Angst and tension ensue m, but there is a happy ever after. I purchased this book through
Harlequin.

I couldn't put it down. Gabriel and Ellie's story was a roller coaster of emotion! Can't wait for the third book about Andreas.

The story was actually a good story. Had angst, and hot attraction between H and h. But the problem I had was with the h. She came off to me as morally superior. She approached Gabriel with a deal because he threatened to pull his company out if Eleni did not help him and his daughter. So she made a deal for marriage that included giving her a child.

That wasn't the problem. Where she lost credibility to me was when she disappeared from her wedding reception for two hours and lies about it to Gabriel. And acts like he is doing her wrong by showing her his anger. She knew his personality when she struck the deal. I was glad when he called her out on lying.

All in all it was a decent read. The heroine just wasn't a very strong character.

Good story. The heroine was at times tedious and the hero overbearing but it worked well in a believable romance.

Perfectly Presents' beginning, from the heroine’s strong characterisation to the yummy hero, exciting first meet and regal backdrop, compelled me to buy when I read it on the Mills and Boon website.

Tara Pammi’s strong Presents’ voice sets the scene beautifully and includes some gorgeous phrasing. "The king of arrogant ruthlessness" failing at being a father to his newly-discovered, motherless daughter broke my heart. You feel his frustrations and so want him to connect with her.

Towards the end of the beginning, I loved how Princess Eleni turns the tables on Gabriel and on my expectations! Some lovely character, emotion and relationship depth here.

Gabriel’s daughter being the primary motivator for their marriage works. And juxtaposing Eleni’s childhood with how his daughter is feeling deepens this emotion/characterisation.

At first, I really liked and empathised with the heroine, but there are times when her conflict becomes muddled--maybe there are too many conflict threads?--and too-many times when she comes across as unheroinelike. The first is when she lies to Gabriel.

The Royal House of Drakos is more than a backdrop; life is breathed into it by Andreas and Nik, her 2 brothers, her sister-in-law, Mia, the hero’s daughter, Angelique, and Mr Unfinished Business, Spiros. They all have on-page time with either Gabriel or Eleni, and entertaining as these interactions are, they rob the hero and heroine of some important scenes, I think.

In the same vein, a plot-device is used to break the impasse and to prise open the hero's emotions, where I would prefer these important moments to be more character-led. This book should carry a warning that a horse dies in the making of the plot device. And forgive me, but I can't resist saying that poor Shadow isn't foreshadowed.

Despite it being another scene with a secondary character, I adored the meeting between Gabriel and Andreas and felt a bit unfaithful to this book’s hero in the Crown Prince of Drakon's presence.

3 out of 5 stars for this strongly-characterised, conflict-intense Presents' world.
