Unholy Pursuit: The Devil on My Trail: The First Book of The UnHoly Pursuit Saga Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 7 ratings

Ana BuFaye definitely believes in things that go bump in the night. Unholy Pursuit:The Devil on My Trail is futuristic, paranormal, romance story that also contains elements of sci-fi, horror, common sense, and philosophy. It's a novel about the eternal battle of good versus evil set 500 years in the future that features saints, immortals, demons, and spirits. A recently single mother with a supernatural past suddenly finds her life in turmoil. Energy and a fighting attitude are her two best friends as she is always on the road fleeing malevolent forces coming after her. She gives as good as she gets and always manages to stay one step ahead of her pursuers due to her inner qualities and otherworldly assistance. She is more than just a tough, strong woman fighting to save her family: she is a warrior called to battle to fight for the greater good.

Unbeknownst to her, the one in whose arms she sought love and comfort in is actually an immortal, who according to ancient texts and tomes, myths, and legends is far worse than Lucifer. Her new love is the former king of hell, Azazel.

Review

A great story of saints, demons, spirits, good and evil set 500years in the future. A 24 year old single mother with energy and afighting attitude is always on the road fleeing malevolent forces coming after her. As she gives as good as she gets and always manages to stayone step ahead of her pursuers due to her inner qualities and a littlehelp from above, the reader comes to realize that she is more than just a tough, strong woman fighting to save her family: she is a warriorcalled to battle to fight for the greater good . A good intro to theparanormal genre and for a perspective on what life will be like a halfmillennium from now.Best,Guillaume

From the Author

This book is the start of the entire Unholy Pursuit series. The written manuscript begun to take form approximately 1999. So in short, the entire series was seventeen years in the making.  There was a lot of intense research conducted in creating this series mainly because I wanted it to be historical accurate. The writings and creating the of the crisscross of  periods with the main character Ana BuFaye, I found to be very exciting for we all have dreamed of what life may had been like in another era. I used an everyday woman in a fantasy situation because I felt the genre wasn't used enough. I wanted to see where would it take me and how it would develop over the years. I was astonished at the public's response to the book.  Most described it as different and a breath of fresh air.  I had considered making it two volumes but changed my mind for I'm an avid reader and I love big books. I hope anyone who reads the series get as much joy out of reading it as I did writing it. I learned many new things along the way.

A. White is a long-time member of Romantic Time and Publisher's Weekly who has been writing for over fifteen years. She specializes in writing of ancient myths and legends. Her works are mainly paranormal, romance, horror, fantasy, extreme, and sci-fi as well as, as some may say, "the truly strange predicament and puzzling." Other books she has written are "Clash with the Immortals, and eleven others which are part of the "Unholy Pursuit saga," She has been working on the Saga since 1999-2001 and begun transferring the manuscripts to text in 2007. She wished to complete the entire series before introducing them to public so the readers wouldn't have to for the continuation to be written. The ideas of the book came from classic literature such as which have greatly influence the world such as Homer, Sophocles, Herodotus, Euripides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle and many more. The "Book of Enoch" influenced the usage of Azazael as a main character and love interest. She created the primary main character from the Chronicle of Saints. She wanted to depict saints as real flesh and blood people with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often represented. So, she created one of her own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to.

Great read! Good vs Evil,..., in an inventive drama!

I loved the fact that the main character is totally kick ass and brazening guns. A gun in one hand and a sword in the other. It doesn't get braver than that! She is what I like to read when I read about a strong heroine. She's in love with Azazel but that love doesn't get in the way of what she needs to do. Can't wait until the next addition to this series.Unholy Pursuit: The Devil on My Trail: Unholy Pursuit (UnHoly Pursuit Saga) (Volume 1)

I found this to be an energetic, somewhat interesting read. The writing is good and the dialogue is sharp. However, considering the novel is set five hundred years in the future, it didn't seem like things had changed very much. I kept thinking about that and it lessened my enjoyment of the novel.

Unholy pursuit is an epic story of a woman's tireless perseverance and the struggle to literally, survive while protecting her child. The constant action kept me enthralled and the battles that took place had me reading far longer than I should... at night. The gripping conflict stirs anxiety, but the main character proves true to herself and her will to fight and live. I enjoyed the rush and look forward to the next installment.

In The Devil on my Trail a woman named Ana Bufaye life goes from bad to worse without her having a clue as to why. Her encounters with the supernatural world is like looking at the unseen world through her eyes. It takes you through a perilous journey of her life and her will to live. She has captured the attention of an Immortal named Azazel, the worst of the evil. But yet he's her only real ally...

This story combines sci-fi, horror, and romance. Entertaining and unique, it's a speculative fiction masterpiece! I love the main character's resilience and bravery.
