Forbidden Love!
5 out of 5 stars
Forbidden Love!
This is the first book I've read by Ava Harrison and I look forward to more! The story between Ava and Dr. Preston Montgomery is a beautiful tale of two people finding each other in the most inconvenient of ways. Ava is dealing with tragedies from her past and present, at which time Preston shows up to provide her guidance. Ava resists contacting him for help, even though deep down she knows she needs it. The Dr./Patient line becomes blurred for both of them. It's clear they both have demons from their past to deal with, is there really something between or is this transference. This is a heartfelt, emotional story that brings tears to your eyes!

This is an emotional story. This story starts out with Eve in the hospital not knowing what or how she got there. Eve is a young girl whose father died when she was 4(four) years old, but she really has no recollection of it. Her not knowing what happened should have been a clue for those who are trying to figure out how Eve started having panic attacks. While she is at the hospital her roommate finally comes to see and get her. We found out that her roommate comes because her mother is a hypochondriac and always believe she is sick with something, so she rarely leaves the house and the only other person important in her life Richard had died of a heart attack and she couldn't stay at his funeral because something triggered a panic attack so instead of staying there she gets in her car to drive. We come to find out that Richard was like a father to her and her mentor. In the hospital several doctors come in to look at her. The first doctor a Dr. Levin evidently was assigned to the case but then there comes Dr. Preston Montgomery who fills in at the hospital sometimes as a psychiatrist and comes in when a doctor needs a second opinion. I actually decided to read this book because of the Ava Harrison book I read before this and it was conceal with Jaxson and Willow. I digress, the doctors come into check on her because they thought maybe she was trying to commit suicide. So that is how Dr. Preston Montgomery and Eve Hamilton start to get to know one another. When she is let out the hospital she is having these panic attacks and nightmares that make no sense where she can taste and feel blood but she doesn't really let anyone know about the nightmares. The nightmares and panics get so bad she has to eventually find a psychiatrist she is comfortable with. She decides after visiting several that the only person she is comfortable with is Dr. Preston Montgomery so she starts seeing him. In seeing him they become close and the Dr. patient relationship gets tested. She is falling for him and he already had feelings for her because she reminded him of his deceased girlfriend Sloane. Sloane had committed suicide their sophomore year in college. He felt like he had let Sloane down and that is why he become a pyschiatrist.
This was truly a book about forgiveness and epic love. I loved Preston. He was in such a painful position. Many difficult decisions would need to be made for both of these folks to find the way into the light. At the end they might not both emerge together. This is the essence of this masterful read to me. I just love it! I can't wait to read the next story with his brother!!!

Sigh... Doc Mr Dreamy... what can I say... I just loved him!! He is soooooo damn swoon worthy it will make you fall head over heels in love with him!! The struggle between right and wrong, do you follow your heart or your mind. That is the Preston Montgomery will find himself debating. The minute he sees Eve, he is captivated by her. But being her therapist he’s crossing so many lines he may risk losing his license. He feel’s like fate is giving him a second chance at love. But is the risk worth the reward?

Ever since Eve’s mentor died, she’s been plagued with panic attacks and nightmares. A serious blackout causes her to be in a car accident and in the hospital. Her life feels like its being sucked down a black hole except for a pair of beautiful blue eyes that save her. She resists the feeling that makes her feel safe. She knows falling for her therapist is not right but there is just something about him that she cannot let go of.

There is so much more to trans*fer*ence that just a love story. Stories involving mental illnesses always hit close to home for me as my mother committed suicide. Reading these types of novels always helps me look at the other side of her illness. What it must have felt like to live in darkness and Ms Harrison did just that. I could feel Eve’s pain and struggles. Her panic attacks where heartbreaking and I felt like I was right there with her feeling what she was feeling. Trans*fer*ence is one not to miss and one I would highly recommend!

I was looking for a book about a therapist/client relationship. This definitely scratched the itch. Being in the psychology field there were a few things that I could pick out that were slightly incorrect or not how I would see a therapist acting. A few of the ethical things that happened made me cringe a little. Overall though, I enjoyed this book. Would I recommend it to friends? I already have, so yes. Haha

This book is the first I've read by this author and it will not be the last. I was intrigued at first because of the cover of book two in this series. I wanted to start at the beginning. OMG what a beginning. For me this is a tough subject matter. It was handled by someone who had done a lot of research. I absolutely loved that this young woman had a friend in this story. Even though she seemed fragile at times I found she has a lot of grit to keep moving one foot in front of the other. I loved Preston. He was in such a painful position. Many difficult decisions would need to be made for both of these folks to find the way into the light. At the end they might not both emerge together. This is the essence of this masterful read to me. I just love it! I can't wait to read the next story with his brother!!! Thank you for making this book available in paperback for those of us who just love the feel of a great read! denise bailey

This book shredded me... Like straight up shredded my heart. I can't even begin to explain how much I needed this book in my life. My needy little forbidden romance heart couldn't get enough of these words. The emotion, the slow burn, the need, the want, it all flowed out on the page and slammed into me like a ton of bricks. Plus the hot pulsing steam? The icing on the cake.
I loved it. Plain and simple. And I'll be reading more of Ava Harrison's books for sure!

Okay, so it was a bit slow to begin with but after catching up to speed, I loved the book. I felt every emotion possible whilst reading it. I don’t usually cry whilst reading BUT when Eve opened Preston’s gift, I couldn’t stop bawling my eyes out. Loved the epilogue too. Need a follow up to this book Ava. Want to know what happens before, during and after they get married. Waiting in anticipation.....

This book has so many ups and downs it keeps you hooked and turning those pages!
Eve has many issues in her life that are stopping her from properly living ...along comes her meeting recommended therapist Preston and instantly they both feel the connection that isnt quite in the doctor/patient rule book!
This story isnt as clear and straightforward as you may think and even has twists right up to

4.0 out of 5 stars What happens when there is a clear therapist/patient attraction?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 2, 2017
This was quite a rollercoaster of a story and highly emotional.

It delves in to the dilemma when there is a clear attraction between a couple but they cannot act on it due to the therapist/patient relationship.

There is a lot of angst, heartbreak and turmoil along the way but not enough passion for me.
