4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 818 ratings

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

This Wheel of Time ebundle includes:
The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising, and New Spring: The Novel.

Enter the world of The Wheel of Time®, the genre-defining epic fantasy series by New York Times bestselling author Robert Jordan.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Eye of the World — When The Two Rivers is attacked by Trollocs—half-men, half-beasts—five villagers flee that night into a world they barely imagined, with new dangers waiting in the shadows and in the light.

The Great Hunt — Long thought only legend, the Horn of Valere is found, a mystical item able to raise the dead heroes of the ages. But then, everything changes when it is stolen.

The Dragon Reborn — Winter has stopped the war—almost—yet men are dying, calling out for the Dragon. But where is he? In the Heart of the Stone lies the next great test of the Dragon Reborn.

The Shadow Rising — The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind. Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn.

New Spring — A prequel to the Wheel of Time series: In the city of Tar Valon, a Foretelling of the future is uttered. On the slopes of Dragonmount, the immense mountain that looms over the city, is born an infant prophesied to change the world. That child must be found before the forces of the Shadow have an opportunity to kill him.

The story weaves it's magic with each chapter. Every volume stands up to the test of a good story. Highly recommended.

I am rereading the entire series and understand better now than I did before. This series continues to be an excellent one. I look forward to rereading the other ten books. A watered down version of the first two books is available on Prime as an episodic movie. It is enough to whet your appetite for the books if you have never read them or make you want to reread them. The series is full of adventure, magic, hope, emotional moments and is good vs evil. The characters will pull you into the excellent storyline and you will have a hard time putting any of the books down. Also, be aware that book 5 in this series is a prequel to the first book.

The Amazon show fails by trying to check seemingly obligatory mainstream boxes, and tells a bland, poorly pieced together and cheap version of WoT. The books, however, tell a fantastic and intricate story full of detail and life. After reading these books I plan to finish reading all the WoT books and boycott the horrid show. The books are wonderful.

Science fiction moves along hard to put it down. Ordered 5/
~9 in the series . Land maps on and off would have been helpful in knowing were each group was traveling as chapters switches back and forth

I am binge reading the entire set, or at least more than half way. The author is a master of plot, character development, and description. I ordered the entire set including the last three co-authored after his death. I understand the plots and characters are not wrapped up until then. The Prime TV series is absolutely no indicator as to these books.

The trope of light versus dark is as common as light to the sun, but it is the journey and the discovery of a living world with characters brought to life with a well written story and imagination that makes this story a journey for the ages.

If you realize that some of the written re-play is for those just picking up a book to check it out then you can’t help but see the understated genius of the author. The books give you the feeling that you are there and you will literally find yourselves laughing with the characters if not on the edge of your seat. Hard to put down and a definite must read for this genre.

I am a lifelong fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" and I find myself every bit as intrigued by "The Wheel of Time". This is an intricately woven tale of mankind's war to save the world from consumate evil and the many races of beings on both sides of the battle. Like Tolkien, Jordan populates his epic tale with numerous races each complete with customs, languages, and lands interacting in a complex tale that will keep you spellbound. If you are a fan of LOTR you will appreciate WOT.

Watching this series on Amazon was a great experience. Reading this was was even more. I cannot recall being so entranced by a writer and his story telling in my 60 plus years. Pure joy is the simplest way I can say what reading these books meant for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked a lot the first three books
Reviewed in Mexico on September 5, 2022
I liked a lot the books, but it startled me that the fourth book is a story 16 or 18 years before the end of the third book. The end of the third book is not the end of the main story. There are parts where the fourth book felt slow to me.
