I'm a retired physician who, in addition to writing, is a husband and grandfather, plays (and enjoys) golf, and does the hundred-and-one other things that retired people do.

I got into non-medical writing after the death of my first wife with my book, THE TENDER SCAR: LIFE AFTER THE DEATH OF A SPOUSE. I'm gratified that it continues to help those who have lost a loved one.

Now I'm writing what I call "medical suspense with heart." My novels have been finalists for the ACFW Carol Award, Romantic Times' Best Inspirational Novel and their Reviewer's Choice Award, have won the Selah award, and been named by Christian Retailing as the best in the mystery/suspense/thriller category. My latest novel is GUARDED PROGNOSIS. I've also published fivenovellas, the latest one MEDICAL MYSTERY.

"Joining the Hall group could be hazardous to your health".This was a last choice, other positions were gone, half a million in debt. Parents just died and a note forged by his father, bank wants payment now. What is he to do,seems hopeless,for the Doctor. First day, and already domed,or is there hope. Another great story as they all are by Richard Mabry. Good mystery that catches you from the first, of what can he do. Enjoyable for all to read and enjoy.

Doctor's Dilemma was the first time I've read anything by Dr. Mabry, but it won't be the last. It hooked me from the very beginning when Dr. Tyler Gentry receives a mysterious phone call warning him about the Hall group, the medical practice he's just joined. Full of lots of twists and turns, I couldn't put this novella down! Highly recommended for anyone who loves mystery/suspense!

The mystery unravels while Tyler and a pretty OR nurse devlop a trusting relationship. Not knowing while reading this book that the author is an MD, I was impressed with the depth of his knowledge of medicine, and very pleased with the lack of bad language and sex. The new couple's relationship is so wise.

Short novel indeed! I now have read all of Dr Mabry's books. Doctor's Dilemma highlights the problems a new doctor encounters by accepting a to good to be true position with an established surgical group. Story is fast paced and not overloaded with details. I really appreciate that this book is a totally clean read .

He takes a job with a surgical clinic & immediately starts receiving warnings to get out while he can. Nurse Ashley comes to his aid at a crucial time. Its a short book so the action is packed into those few pages. Dr. Mabry has written another good one.
