About the Author

Nancy Vedder-Shults, Ph.D., taught in the Women's Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1975 to 1991.  After leaving her position there, she became a public speaker and workshop leader in women's spirituality.  Her work has focused on women's theology, music, and spiritual growth. In 2013, she was named one of the Wisdom Keepers of the Goddess Spirituality Movement by the prestigious SageWoman magazine alongside such luminaries as Alice Walker, Starhawk, Lynn Andress, and Sue Monk Kidd.  She has given workshops all over North America.

    I'm a big fan of divination and use it in my work and my women's circles so immediately skimmed this book when I received it, then put it on my pile of "must reads". I wish I'd climbed into it sooner! Nancy writes with a perfect mix of magical and practical wisdom, offering some tried-and-true favorite forms of divination, but then lots of cool new ideas that even this long-time lover of ritual and divination hadn't thought of. I've tagged a bunch that I want to incorporate into upcoming women's circles, and also just for myself. Nancy has taken the practice of divination out of the woo-hoo world and grounded it so beautifully in our everyday reality. And isn't that what it really is, being able to get the answers to any question, just by being open to the messages from the inner and outer worlds? That was one of the reasons why Jung was a tarot fan... kinda meshed with his theory of synchronicity, too -- that the answer to any question you have is already out there and you only have to find the means to connect to it. I'll be referring to this "Oracle" for many years to come.

    This book is not what i thought it was going to be. I thought the book was about Oracle Cards 😂. Definitely not the authors fault. I should’ve done more research and read the description clearly. The book was ok. It talked about all the ways you can get signs from the universe. It gives a brief summary of the origin of each oracle. It goes over the auditory, visual, and kinesthetic senses we can use. If you’re new to Oracle then this is the book for you.

    I recently attended a workshop with Nancy using the techniques in her book and found it so helpful I had to buy her book and am so grateful I did. Her book is beautifully illustrated and well written with many intriguing suggestions for going deeper into our understanding of ourselves as oracle. Nancy's style is supportive and encouraging and engaging. I highly recommend this book and her methods.

    What I appreciate most about this book is that it supports the reader in getting in touch with their own guidance and intuition. As I perused it, I could feel myself opening to receive.
