I still am.
This is a book to browse, not necessarily read cover-to-cover. Not right away, at least.
The book's table of contents is themed, but not exactly clear. (If you want to go back and review the author's suggestions for hanging plants in a window, you may need to flip through the book for it. It's in the section called "Growth.")
However, if you treat this book as a course in connecting authentically with your home, it's magnificent. From identifying your style to understanding Feng Shui and crystals, or choosing your best color palette for the area you're decorating... this is easily the best book of its kind. (I say that with confidence, since I'm kind of addicted to interior design books. And gypset-ish books. And hippie stuff. ;) )
For me, this book is a keeper. I can't imagine reaching a point where I'd think I'd gotten everything from it that I could.
The book itself is cool and gives you new and unconventional ideas for finding your style and relating to different styles. The concept is good. Some of the featured homes are from the original New Bohemians, so I didn't find anything super new and exciting here and would probably have preferred to stop at the first book. The styles featured in some of the homes are a bit banal to me (for being otherwise maximalist-bohemian). While I appreciate that these look like real, everyday homes, some of them lack anything really special and they kind of lose me. They're often a bit too normal-house-trying-to-be-zaney and don't have the genuine design talent or appeal of homes featured in better design books. But that's all just matter of taste, and it is a nice book still.
