Outlaws of Time: The Last of the Lost Boys (Outlaws of Time, 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 141 ratings

From N. D. Wilson, the bestselling author of 100 Cupboards, comes the spellbinding finale of the Outlaws of Time series, The Last of the Lost Boys.

Alex always thought his life was boring at best. But when he learns that his favorite time-traveling heroes Sam and Glory are his real parents, Alex realizes he never needed to dream of an elsewhere. Just an else
when.

But when Alex sets out to find Father Tiempo, he is ambushed and transformed into the powerful villain El Terremento. Now there’s not a second to waste.

Unless Sam and Glory Miracle can stop the son they didn’t even know they were going to have—let alone lose—history will be unhinged, for good.

This adventure is perfect for fans of Armand Baltazar’s
Timeless: Diego and the Rangers of the Vastlantic or Soman Chainani’s School of Good and Evil series.

“An exciting adventure with relentless action and more twists and turns than a sidewinder snake on the hunt.” —New York Times bestselling author Michael Northrop

I've read this series twice, as I've done for all the other N. D. Wilson series. "The Last of the Lost Boys" departs from several trends in young adult fantasy series. The last book is roughly the same length as the first. The writing stays crisp. The story stays nimble. The last book moves on to different characters with the original characters in the background. But like other good storytellers Wilson accomplishes the feat of making the end as good, maybe even a little better than the beginning. I think this series, and the others, will last. At least I think they should. Outlaws of Time 3 deserves to have as many reviews (5 star) as Harry Potter 7, well at least as many as Percy Jackson 12.

In this third book of this series you ever know until the very end if Sam and Glory will be able to save their son Alex from what Mrs Dervish has done, changing him into a villain. Father Tiempo keeps trying to save him resetting time again and again , never seeming to be successful. As Alex and Rhonda jump from time to time he wrestles with being a villain or not. Anyway just following the action will have your head spinning as things happen then are undone in the next time stream. A great series for YA and adults that kept me up finishing it.

A wonderful end to an epic series. Hmm . . . what can I say except, go read it for yourself? There's some philosophical questions that N.D. Wilson poses in this particular book that really made me think. But there was also the usual rip-roaring adventures, so fear not! This book is fun! It's just that it's also one of those books you can go back to time and again, because there's more to it than is seen on first reading.

These stories can be hard to follow, possibly because they're about time travel. I haven't re-read them, but I did enjoy the stories and following the character development.

Excellent read that will keep your eyes glued to the pages! Interesting perspective change in comparison to the the previous books. The story is told beautifully in true ND style. I definitely enjoyed my time reading this and can't wait until my daughter is old enough for me to read this to!

Slight SPOILER below:
I was about to throw my phone across the room when I got to this moment in the book. Glad I didn't and finished reading! It would have been awful if I was interrupted before finishing!

This is the best sort of fiction: the kind that lets you see the world and your life with greater clarity.
Genuine heros with genuine temptations resisting genuine villains.
