Poetry has always been a way of elegant expressions of my inner most thoughts and feelings. When I was younger, poetry became an escape from the emotions I could not express aloud to those people who came in and out of my life. Poetry also became a journal of sensual thoughts and freedoms I believed became bottled inside me until I finally allowed myself to receive the love and satisfaction I deserved. Never allowing me to act on these emotions created a vivid imagination for someone who at the time believed it was distasteful for women to have sexual freedoms and depressive thoughts expressed through voice.

Valerie Lynn is from a small beautiful area in Collierville, Tennessee, which is a few miles from the great city of Memphis Tennessee. She enjoys writing poetry, spiritual creativity, and discovering positive platforms for others to be their true self. Valerie Lynn attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and later completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix. In addition, Valerie Lynn received her Ordination Certificate through American Marriage Ministries in 2013 and received her Managing Conflict Certificate in 2010. She is also the author of Healing Hearts (The Journey from Grief to Grace), Seven Days (A Woman's Journey to find Peace in the Workplace) and Before I was saved (Poems of Pasion).
