Loved this sweet story of Nate and Bianca! While they share a common past, they each have deep wounds and issues to overcome. Bianca's son is adorable, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting another peek into the Fortunes of Texas families - a wonderfully complex situation that makes you want to pick up the next book in the series. This author is an automatic buy for me - love the witty banter and the tension as the couple fall for each other. Wonderful!

With the first delve into the Fortunes of Texas new sub-series The Rulebreakers, Michelle Major steals our heart as she's often known to do with a cast of lovable characters. A war-hero left with more wounds on the inside than on the out, a loving mother who needs a support system in life, and an adorable little tyke who steals scene after scene ... the plot is well balanced with enough joy and romance to carry us through the strife that threatens the happily ever after we're all looking for. A really enjoyable read!

Bianca Shaw's life hasn't been going so great lately ... her beloved brother was killed at war, her no-good husband walked out on her, and now she's really hit hard times. She could really use a helping hand right about now, and she can't think of any other place to go except for to the one person her brother told her would always be there for her ... his best friend Nate Fortune.

Nate's life has been in a bit of a turmoil lately as well. He's still suffering from PTSD from that last mission in Afghanistan that didn't bring her brother home, and he's carrying a whole lot of survivor's guilt in his heart. He was also thrown for a loop to learn that the father they thought had died years ago is actually alive and well and a surprise member of the renowned Texas Fortune family! When Bianca shows up at his door with a suitcase and her son in tow, he doesn't hesitate to take her in ... but will she be more than his aching heart can handle?

Bianca is down on her luck with a child in to and could use some help from her brothers friend Nate. Nate has his own secrets on why he keeps his distance with Bianca but will do everything he can for her and her boy.

This was such a nice little romance but I wished that there was a bit more to this book to make it unique. I read plenty of romance books like this book and this book was nice but would like if there was a bit more to make it stand out from the rest of the romance books that are out there.

The Fortune's are one big complicated family. Nate Fortune has returned home after his stint as a Navy Seal. While he was stationed in Afghanistan his best friend, Eddie, was killed right in front of him. He can't stop seeing this and blames himself as he should have been able to save him. Eddie was like a brother to Nate and asked if anything happened to him he wants him to take care of his sister Biance.

Bianca and her son EJ show up on Nate's doorstep and once he realizes who she is he is dumbfounded. He remembers the little kid that was around when he and Eddie hung out. This Bianca is all grown up and beautiful, She asks Nate if she can stay with him until she gets her life straightened out. Of course she is going to stay there.

I don't want to give away anymore and the sparks do fly but can they do anything about them? You will get many laughs at some of the things four year old EJ comes out with. I loved every minute of this book and hope you will too.
