4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 586 ratings

What if the one person who is supposed to love you unconditionally, wants to kill you instead?

Before you go looking for answers, make sure you can handle the truth.

Jordan is a step closer to uncovering the mystery of her mother’s disappearance. Sol can finally make his urgent delivery and Allan has received Jordan’s message, but instead of giving him comfort it has only made him desperate. And what is with these strange glass bugs, anyway? Could they be the secret to finding his missing daughter? Fiddling with Elven magic could become the biggest regret of Allan’s life.

Meanwhile, a young dragon has imprinted on Jordan, her companion for life whether she likes it or not. That’s alright, he’s just a little guy…pretty harmless...

When the locket with her mother’s portrait inside begins to behave strangely she learns that what seems a simple family heirloom is actually a magic compass…

Following the locket means there is no turning back.

Jordan finds herself running for her life from someone she expected would welcome her with open arms. When two friends show up with a terrifying report of Allan’s whereabouts, can Jordan survive long enough to rescue her father?

Welcome to The Revelations of Oriceran.

The veils between worlds are thin. Come see what’s on the other side.

Ascendant is the second book in a four-book series.

Kacy and Sol make his delivery, but things don't go as planned! Now Sol is off on a delivery, and Kacy and Blue are off to find Mom! They do, and she orders them killed! She barely escapes with help from Blue and Toth. They are trying to rescue her Dad, who follows the bugs...A lot of stuff happening, to suck you in and make you want more! So Good!

While acclimating to her life in Oriceran. Jordan finds reason to believe she is close to finding her mother. At the same time she embarks on a journey to find her mother she is unaware of the danger her father has fallen into. This second brings the story more to life through more interaction of the characters, the actions of others, and the new twists and turns that develope. I bought a copy of this book because I enjoy this author so much. I really love to read and when I find an author's writing I enjoy I like to endorse them and their stories by leaving a review without revealing to much of the story to not to ruin it for others. I enjoy AL Knorr's stories.

So a girl who grew up on Earth finds herself in a magic land and now has feathered wings. Rather than go completely insane, she first travels with another winged human she has met to try to find out more about herself. This take has her discovering things that make little sense to her, or to the reader in some ways, but also leave quite a bit of plot left to be developed.

Its a fun tale, although it turns surprisingly dark at times and plays up the romance in ways that are almost cringeworthy. (Only almost).

Still, when you get to the ending, I expect you'll be like me and wondering how the tale will end. Sadly, that won't happen here.

Wow! What magic! This is definitely a well written story. Love this magical world. Ms Knorr knows how to tell a story well. She has a vivid imagination well described for the reader to picture. It’s easy to see her characters and their hearts (good and bad). Some will surprise you, some are very disappointedly evil. You’ll be on the edge of your seat rooting for the good ones. Alas, this story ends too soon. Glad to see I don’t have to wait too long for Combatant to go live. Rest assured I will be reading that one as soon as it’s available. I highly recommend getting into this world of Oriceran. You’ll love it!

And the story continues, Now that Jordan has her wings, and Sol is back on his mission to deliver his message nothing can go wrong, or can it? Wandering through a marketplace while Sol delivers his message, Jordan meets and imprints a minature dragon, just a winged puppy, right? And she finds that the portrait of her mom acts like a compass so she can locate her lost mom, good news. Meanwhile dear old dad follows certain magical messenger bugs through the old tree portal to Oriceran---another potential reunion.....And it all goes south. This book is a great read, and well worth the price....especially when a loving mom orders her daughter killed...just another day for Jordan..

It took me a little bit to get into the first book in this series, but this second one doesn’t have any slow spots. It picks up right where book one leaves off and just gets better and better. I love Blue!!

This is an amazing concept of an incredible world. It is very intriguing and the plot and characters keep the reader interested. It is well-written. The only thing I didn’t like as well as her other books is the wordiness and the lengthy description of everything. It tends to move al little slowly for me, but I am still looking forward to reading the next one.

WOW! Another incredible read from author A.L. Knorr! I bought this book over 2 months ago and one thing lead to another & I never got around to reading it and after having read the kick-ass first book... My mistake. Captivating characters. Attention-grabbing storyline. The second book in a multi-book series it picks up where the first book left off, in the middle of things. If you love fantasy this series is a must-read. I cannot wait to read book 3!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the writing, the land and the characters!

This series is getting better and better! Knorr continues to write an enchanting land filled with unique characters. Their adventures keep me turning page after page as I worry what will happen to the family. Jordan learns some intense things in this book, and the friendships she’s building along her adventure fill me with hope and curiosity. I love Knorr’s view on elves and their magic. I’m anxiously waiting for the next book in this series cuz there are so many questions that need answering. This book painted a beautiful landscape and expanded on the story started in book two. I encourage fantasy lovers to pick up this series. It will definitely entertain you and leave you wondering what will happen to this girl next.

5.0 out of 5 stars No unnecessary fluff

Love the continuation of the story and that the ending wasn't as abrupt as in Descendant, the first book in the series. The characters are believable and I loved that the story picked right up where it left off without all of the fluff of giving the reader a recap of everything that happened (a page-filler tactic, I'm sure). I'm thankful that right when I finished this one, Combatant, the third installation went on sale. Yay, I don't have to leave the characters for much longer than it takes to finish this review, get myself a cup of tea, and settle down with a Kindle.

In this book Jordan's father, Allan, has followed the messenger bugs through the portal to Oriceron. Unfortunately he came out jn the desert where he is immediately captured by a couple of creatures who sell him to the warden, who sends him on to the prison. At the same time, Jordan goes to seek out her mother by using the locket as a locating device. Also at the same Eohne has got back the messenger bugs which came back with Allan and is now aware of ehat has happened to Allan. She then goes to find Jordan's friend Toth to help her find Jordan and tell her about Allan.

This series is extremely absorbing, but well worth it. As soon as I started, could not put it down. I felt myself becoming the characters, felt real emotions as I read this book, and I was so glad at the end to find there was more of this story to continue. I have cried, laughed, and yelled at these characters like they were real people!
