4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 517 ratings

When a tea leaf reader, Rose, is performing readings at Sage Gardens, Samantha is too curious to resist and arranges a reading for her and her three reluctant friends. But it is not smooth sailing when a reading goes horribly wrong.

Then things go from bad to worse when someone is murdered. The ‘Sage Gardens Sleuths’ cannot resist a good mystery and they decide to see if they can put together the pieces of the puzzle and find the murderer. But their investigations lead them down a path they didn’t expect and they land up in hot water.

Did Rose predict the murder? Did something that Rose saw in the tea leaves cause this disaster? Or was it all an elaborate ruse that ended in murder?

Once again Sage Gardens is immersed in police cars and their revolving red and blue lights! It all starts with a gathering to have your teas leaves read. While Samantha and Eddy, Walt and Jo are waiting for the firstbreading to end... oh boy it ends with so much drama and shrieking the reader runs out the door! Then the group of friends decide to try and find the read reader Rose to see if she’s all right. No luck. But then there come to police once again! Murder! Our Sage Garden sleuths try to find out why this happened. They hear so much gossip and embellishments that they get retired cop, Eddy to call in a few favors. Then it gets rather active and you can’t put the book down! You don’t want to miss this!

This is the 2nd in the series I have read and I find them very enjoyable a good cozy mystery. The main characters are Samantha (Sam) previously a crime journalist, Eddy, who was a cop, Jo was a cat burglar and Walt. They all live now at Sage Gardens Retirement center. They have become close and hang out together. Sam always seems to be the one to try new things and drags the others with her. It leads to some very interesting situations. Fun to read.
