Rule's Bride (The Bride Trilogy Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 462 ratings

From a New York Times–bestselling author, an arranged marriage turns to love when the convenient wife helps her husband escape an unjust murder charge.

Unrepentant rake Rule Dewar is living the good life when a most surprising event occurs—he falls in love with his wife.

After their strategic “marriage of commerce” three years ago, Rule quite forgot about Violet Griffin, the teenage heiress to a Boston manufacturing fortune. He simply spoke his vows, took over her father’s business and returned to England to resume his usual pursuits: high-priced wine, high-stakes gambling and highborn women.

Yet when Violet, now a sophisticated woman, unexpectedly appears at Rule’s London town house, husbandly duties no longer seem so odious—he can’t wait to take his stunning bride to their marriage bed. Violet, however, is not so easily led: she has her own ideas and is seeking an annulment to marry another. But as Rule attempts to win her over, someone else is determined to frame him for murder and keep him out of the way for good . . .

Review

"Her ability to do a range of British accents is amazing and even though those few things niggled at me, I still found her narration - her pacing, and her ability to convey the emotion required - to be brilliant."---Book Work Brandee

I have loved all the stories of the three brothers in this series. Each one was unique unto itself and each brother found his perfect mate. This final story has been in my que for a long time, mainly because I could just not bare to let the series end. I know, I should have done it ages ago but I thought if I postponed it that would make it easier to say goodbye to these three delightfully, handsome, strong men, but it didn't.

I don't believe you should miss the opportunity to not read any of the three stories. They are spectacular stories with wonderful, memorable characters and the wives of these men are absolutely above and beyond the average for this time period. Each of the stories and this one in particular are real, sexy and poignant. You will remember them long after you close the pages of the story.

I’ve loved each book in this series. I was hooked from page one. I felt for Violet as Rule really doesn’t believe he can love her, I even cried for them. Loved how they worked together and how fierce she is in believing in him. Loved their happy ever after and I highly recommend this book.

Four people who are totally confused about love life and sex. They love but can’t share because of their various past experiences, which turns into love at last at the end, thank Goodness!!!!!

I love every book she writes.

I even go on eBay to find series, I am surprised at how many of her series books are still available.

She is one of the best and captures all the aspects of a novel to keep the reader interested.

I thought this was the weakest of the 3 in the bride series. The story was neither here no there it just seemed like Kat Martin ran out of steam with this one. The premise had promise but there wasn't enough conflict to give the story any depth.

Yes, it’s a predictable Victorian-era story, but Ms. Martin masterfully creates characters that engage empathy from readers. The trilogy end with a HEA, but not without a bit of angst. I have re-read all three books and enjoyed them as much the second time through as I did the first. If you like historicals and historical romances, these are sure to please.

I loved the first two books in this trilogy. This was the weakest book in the trilogy. It held my interest but it will not be a favorite. I was looking forward to Rule’s story but his character was a disappointment. His two brothers-Reese and Royal were desirable and interesting. I didn’t feel the passion/love/romance that I felt in the first two. I finished the trilogy and would give it 5 stars. Kat Martin is one of my top favorite HR writers.
