#1 BESTSELLING ROMANTIC COMEDY
A full-length STANDALONE romantic comedy from USA TODAY bestselling author R.S. Grey.

Beau Fortier starred in most of my cringe-worthy teenage fantasies.

I met him when I was a junior in high school, a time that revolved exclusively around bad hair, failed forays into flirting, and scientific inquiries into which brand of toilet paper worked best for stuffing bras.

That is, until Beau moved into the small guest house just beyond my bedroom window.

A 24-year-old law student at Tulane, Beau was as mysterious to me as second base (both in baseball and in the bedroom). He was older. Intimidating. Hot. Boys my age had chicken legs and chubby cheeks. Beau had calloused hands and a jaw cut from steel. Our interactions were scarce—mostly involving slight stalking on my end—and yet deep down, I desperately hoped he saw me as more of a potential lover than a lovesick loser.

Turns out, I was fooling myself. My fragile ego learned that lesson the hard way.

Now, ten years later, we’re both back in New Orleans, and guess who suddenly can’t take his eyes off little ol’ me.

My old friend, Mr. Fortier.

But things have changed. I’m older now—poised and confident. My ego wears a bulletproof vest. The butterflies that once filled my stomach have all perished.

When I was a teenager, Beau warned me to guard my heart.
Let’s hope he knows how to guard his.

The Beau & the Belle had me hooked from the first page!

The Beau & the Belle had me hooked from the first page!
RS Grey shows her signature comedic style without being cringe-worthy the way so many rom-com reads are these days. Classy and sassy! The Beau & the Belle follows Lauren’s teenage crush for Beau. We learn all about her silly mannerisms and and interests as well as her infatuation with the college boy renting her parents apartment. “It’s been said that eyes are little windows to the soul, but hers seem to offer a floor-to-ceiling view into every damn thought in her head.” Beau has his sights set on the future. Renting an apartment from the LeBlanc family during his last year of law school. He finds it charming that Lauren has a crush on him but would never pursue it given the circumstances. “You told me once to guard my heart. Well you’ll be happy to know, Beau, that shit’s under lock and key. Now let’s hope you know how to guard yours.” A decade later they’re back in New Orleans and RS Grey takes us on a hilarious ride of likes, lust, denial, and finally love. “I leave my wild curls as they are and apply just enough makeup to appear as if I’m not wearing any at all. I spritz my neck with a delicate perfume that will find its way to his nostrils the moment I step into his office. He’ll think, What is that glorious scent? Me. I’m the scent.” I didn’t want this book to end! I found Lauren to be so hilariously relate-able and Beau was basically the perfect hero and I couldn’t stop turning the page. Once again, RS Grey gives us a fantastic story with all the feels. The Beau & the Belle had me hooked from the first page with rich New Orleans culture throughout the story. I didn't want it to end!

Y'all... this boooooooook. heart eyes emoji I loved it so freaking hard. In fact, it just might be my new favorite R.S. Grey book and THAT is saying something because it had some steep competition with books like Scoring Wilder, With This Heart and others.

The Beau & the Belle grabbed me from the very start. I totally fell in love with both Lauren and Beau and I was shipping them harder than I should've given their age difference at the time. They just clicked so well and seemed utterly perfect for each other. The way they were separated tore at my heart and I definitely shed a couple tears, even though I knew it wasn't permanent. My feels didn't care. It stung.

Now, fast forward a few years until they're reunited in New Orleans and the fun really starts. Lauren was amazingly sassy, smart and awkward as can be. She also had a bone to pick with Beau over the last time they were face-to-face. Beau was utterly enthralled with Lauren, now that she's all grown up. I found myself obsessed with everything about their story. I'm pretty sure I cheesy-grinned my way through 98% of this book. The Beau & the Belle was THAT kind of read and I loved everything about it.

R.S. Grey's rom coms will always be some of my favorite books. They're just a joy to read. I read The Beau & the Belle in literally one sitting. I turned off the notifications on my phone and told the world to leave me alone, I had a book to read. And I didn't just read it, I devoured it. I love New Orleans as a setting for a book series — and in general, to be honest — and I loved how Rachel made the city basically another character in the book. It all made me want to hop on a flight to New Orleans and relive the city I fell in love with a decade ago.

With all its swoons, laughs, sexy times and feels, The Beau & the Belle is easily one of my favorite books of 2018 so far. I fully expect it to remain on the list for the duration of the year. I also figure I'll reread it at least twice before the year is over. So much love for this book.

    OMG this book!!!!!

I jumped into this book blind, because at this point, whatever RS GREY writes I’ll read. She is the author of one of my all time favorite novels SCORING WILDER and her books just work for me.

The Beau & The Belle was a fantastic novel, featuring one of the most endearing heroines. Lauren LeBlanc was engaging, funny, sweet, dorky, and all in all a truly unique and distinctive character. I would love to call her my best friend. She made me crack up. Her straight forwardness was refreshing and utterly addicting. I’m truly impressed by the author. She outdid herself by creating such an unique personality with Lauren. I was in love, and this time it wasn’t a guy. 😀

Now, let’s not forget Beau. He was a darling. His personality was perfectly balanced. On one side he was a self made entrepreneur, hard working, dedicated with a clear goal in mind. A supportive son, and the perfect boyfriend for any daughter – except for a junior in high school. On the other hand, he was polished, sweet, restrained, and determined to do the right thing to Lauren’s frustration.

Lauren and Beau’s love story was BEAUTIFUL. And I was blown away by the story. I couldn’t put it down, and I was mostly sitting there besotted and smiling like a lunatic.

With Lauren and Beau the author wrote a couple that was absolutely and adoringly perfect for each other. Those two stole each scene with heart and soul. I wanted to ooh and ah whenever they were together. They had chemistry that sizzled, banter that made me laugh out loud, and a romance that made me all gooey on the inside. Like I already mentioned, this book made me ludicrously happy.

I don’t want to give anything away, just know, that this book was a DELIGHT!!!

Heartwarming, sweet, sexy and so GOOD!!! The author hit the perfect balance, kept it lighthearted, with a cast that was engaging as well as endearing. I just LOVED IT!!!

There is really not much to say. I was grinning like a fool. Couldn’t put it down, and loved the heroine above all else. It was a clear WINNER and should be on everyone’s TBR list.

Grey never fails to deliver romantic comedy in the way that only she can. The Beau & the Belle takes us straight into NOLA, making me long to visit this beautiful city. Beau and Lauren are a brilliant rom-com couple. Their ebb and flow creates a story that makes you curious, rooting for these two to find each other. This story is split into two parts: Past and Present. The pace takes the reader on an adventure that you enjoy at ever turn and twist.

Something I adored about this book was that it is so steeped in the NOLA culture. Old families, loss and resilience, history, carnival, etc. You know that Grey has done her research and this story shows that fact. The setting and small details makes the reader long to explore Beau and Lauren's city! It takes you away from the mundane and creates a picture of something worth knowing.

Lauren is a fun and flirty heroine. Her fun is well balanced and we see a girl grow into a strong woman, determined to get what she wants. If it is even possible, Beau gets even better as the story goes, growing from a young law student to a man on a mission. These two have some insane chemistry and I could not wait to see where it all went. Their banter and flirting takes the story to a new level and had me laughing out loud. Yet Grey tempers the fun and flirty with heartfelt moments of family, loss, and community. I was surprised at some poignant scenes she included, but as the story grows, those scenes give so much depth and heart to the book.

Needless to say, Grey has another winner. The Beau & the Belle has everything we expect from Grey with a healthy dash of New Orleans culture that will give you a big dose of wanderlust. Lauren and Beau have been inducted into the Grey's Lover's Hall of Lustful Fame, the best place to be!

At seventeen Lauren is the quirky southern belle who falls in love with the lodger in her parent’s guest house. At 24 Beau is driven and worldly and nothing like the boys at school. As much as he appears to try to keep her at arm’s length, they always seem to find themselves in situations lead to Lauren falling for him more. Annoyingly for her Beau is the perfect gentleman. He’s patient and respectful, and no matter how much she hopes, he won’t step out of the boundaries of friendship.

Ten years later and Lauren is back with her ego semi intact. She’s not the lovesick girl she was back then. She’s a career woman and an honorary New Yorker and won’t be shaken by the likes of still-fine-as-hell, Beau Fortier.

Ambitious Beau has made a success of himself as he had strived to do all those years ago. He has never forgotten sweet Lauren. At seventeen she was off limits, but now she’s back and grown up, Beau won’t hold back in winning her affections.

This latest novel is another string to R.S. Greys’ talented bow (see what I did there?) I can’t seem to get enough of her books lately, and I’m putting it down to their addictive unputdowanableness (it’s a word). THE BEAU & THE BELLE is a hilariously-adorable second chance romance that was a pleasure and a delight to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, witty love story about two people who find their way back to each other
Reviewed in Germany on March 6, 2018
The story of Beau aka Beauregard Fortier and the beautiful Lauren LeBlanc is set in New Orleans and throughout the story, you'll find quite a few interesting facts about the history and looks of the famous French Quarter and Garden District of the city.
In the story, the two meet when Beau moves into the small apartment on the back of LeBlancs' property. He's 24 and in his last year of law school while Lauren is 17 and in Junior high. Teenage Lauren soon starts falling for her mysterious new neighbor and Beau does his best to keep his distance from the innocent sweet girl in order to "do the right thing" and concentrate on his studies, even when it's hard because as he says:
"It's been said that eyes are little windows to the soul, but hers seem to offer a floor-to-ceiling view into every damn thought in her head."

Life tears them apart soon after but ten years later, they are both back in New Orleans and the age difference does not seem as inappropriate anymore as it had the last time they saw each other. But guarding her heart, Lauren did. So there begins a beautiful, witty love story with hilarious metaphors and references to the 2000s. I love the chemistry Grey has so wonderfully built and I can't wait for her future work - as always.

5.0 out of 5 stars But where is the epilogue?
Reviewed in Australia on November 13, 2020
Let me tell you right now before you even have to endure my rambling about how much I adored this book. Pick it Up. READ IT ASAP. I honestly am so in love with R.S Grey's characters. They are witty and come out with the most hilarious dialogue. I was torn how I felt about Beau and Lauren's initial situation because yeah I wanted him to wrap her up in his arms but I do also think he did the right thing by waiting because even though he was only 24-25, it was still a huge age when you are only 17. Although it is not unheard to find your soulmate young but she hadn't even begun to live her life and find out who she was so waiting, yes. It was the right thing to do . Mind you, 10 years is a long time to wait but fate works in mysterious ways. I preferred reading about them when they were both adults but I enjoyed finding out how they met and what transpired between them and how it affected them now. My only issue was that it ended before we got an epilogue. I wanted to know where they were even if it was another 3 years down the track. I wanted more which is a credit to the author because she made me love them so much, what was written didn't feel like enough.

Right now I am a fan of Grey's writings. This book starts with a great promise. It was like those classic romance books. I loved every bit of it. Then in the middle I felt so lost. I don't know whether it's the burb that misled me or something else. The worst is the end. It ends so abruptly and without an epilogue!
