The Virgin (The Original Sinners Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 996 ratings

A young woman hides out in a convent in this prequel to the dark erotic romance series by a USA Today–bestselling author.

For years, Kingsley Edge warned Eleanor the day would come when she, the mistress of a well-respected Catholic priest, would have to run. She always imagined if that day came, she’d be running with Søren. Instead, she’s running from him.

Fearing Søren and Kingsley will use their power and influence to bring her back, Eleanor takes refuge at the one place the men in her life cannot follow. Behind the cloistered gates of the convent where her mother has taken orders, Eleanor hides from the man she loves and hates in equal measure.

With Eleanor gone, the lights have gone out in Kingsley’s kingdom. When he learns the reason she left, he, too, turns his back on Søren and runs. On a beach in Haiti, Kingsley meets Juliette, the one woman who could save him from his sorrows. But only if he can save her first.

Eleanor can hide from Søren but she can’t hide from her true nature. A virginal novice at the abbey sends Eleanor down a path of sexual awakening, but to follow this path means leaving her lover behind, a sacrifice Eleanor refuses to make.

The lure of the forbidden, the temptation to sin and the price of passion have never been higher, and Eleanor and Kingsley will have to pay it if they ever want to go home again.

I think [Hart] nailed that character to a tee. I like her pacing and different voices for all the different characters.-- "Hot Listens"

*A Forever Favorite Series*
I loved catching up with my old friends. The Virgin is laced with history and packed with thought provoking scenarios. I loved every beautiful moment....The Virgin and indeed the entire Original Sinners series is about deep everlasting love, understanding, realization, truth and honesty. This story will forever hold my book heart in the palm of its pages. The story is incredible, wondrous, at times hard to fully comprehend but as always it’s stunningly intense, beautiful, extremely KINKY and totally captivating. The protagonists eloquently tell the story of THAT year. The year when Kingsley and Nora are apart from Soren. My journey through The Virgin was a little turbulent, in terms of my reaction and feelings to some aspects, but by the end I felt I’d gone full circle and all was right with my Original Sinners world.Nora, I’ve had many a deep conversation about this fictional character. Her decisions have not always been easy for me to like but the Original Sinners world revolves around her.... I see her as the facilitator to many events, life changing events for Kingsley and Soren and for that reason alone she’ll always be a very special character to me. She makes wise decisions and hard choices; she keeps her word and makes no apologies for who she is. Her qualities are admirable. The three main characters are developed to perfection. They each have flaws and imperfections that can at times, make them difficult to understand but equally this is what makes them fascinating, more human and totally endearing. They’re all totally comfortable in their own skin, with their needs and desires. They personify trust and honesty which makes them awe inspiring. The way they're able to articulate this to one another and return the faith is remarkable. They always have the most deep rooted reasoning for their choices, love often being at the heart of it; unconditional love. A love so deep it creates the strongest of reactions, in both the characters and the readers. That’s part of the beauty of this dynasty, the characters have their inner motivation, they don't apologize for it, they bask in it and in turn they enamoured me. The level of trust and honesty is difficult to translate in its full glory but if you're familiar with the Original Sinners, you'll understand because it's something that’s richly developed over the course of the series. A series that's overflowing with a rich history laced with deep and beautiful emotion. The provenance weaved throughout is mind blowing creating the most exquisite effect in The Virgin.I loved the exploration of THAT year. Initially, if I’m completely honest, the transitions from memory to memory felt disjointed but the format grew on me and it once again became compulsive reading and once I was captured, I was mesmerized. The style ebbs and flows and made the writing touch my heart.I wanted more each time the memory paused. The story of how Kinglsey and Juliette meet is enchanting. I haven’t always been a fan of their relationship, I saw her as someone in the way of the main protagonists but The Virgin completely changed my opinion. They took my breath away with their connection, their coupling, their story. They're meant to be together, no doubt about it. The telling of Nora’s memory runs in and out of Kinglsey’s and it made for addictive reading. Her experience with someone during this year is so very beautiful and tender and lovely. The Original Sinners continues to push the boundaries, it's forbidden and highly kinky but underscoring all of this and perhaps the heaviest theme of all is LOVE and my heart wept with the emotion of it all. The way their lives entwine and mesh together in the present and past. There are no huge revelations with The Virgin, but what I got was more of them, more information about their lives and an even greater understanding of their love for each other. I felt a balance, a sense of symmetry, fairness and equality. Kingsley continues to be the brightest star in this series; my love for him has grown stronger with each book. I can't wait to devour more of The White Years in The Queen, the next installment from Tiffany Reisz.

Saying Tiffany Reisz has a way with words is like saying Beethoven knows how to write music. Each time I start out to review a book in her remarkable Original Sinners series, I ask myself what can I say that hasn’t already been said by me or another reviewer? Will my comments seem stale and redundant? Will they fall short of doing justice to a book that is so far removed from stale and redundant? Is it even possible to continue writing 5 star reviews that will tell readers what to expect from one of these books? The Virgin will exceed your expectations. It is written in the author’s inimitable style combining graphic erotica with gut-wrenching emotion and laugh-out-loud humor. Reading an Original Sinners book is like picking up a box that contains a familiar and beloved puzzle which has a few missing pieces to find that, magically, the missing pieces have been replaced and you have only to insert them in the correct spots to view the complete picture. But don’t get too comfortable with that phrase “complete picture”. Fans of the author know very well how she loves to toy with her readers and in The Virgin, she toys with her readers, toys with her characters and toys with her words.I’m going to say up front that if you haven’t read the earlier books in this series, my review may contain mild spoilers for you and you should stop reading now! Your order is to go get started on The Siren, The Angel, The Prince, The Mistress, The Saint and The King and in that order. It is no secret among those who know me that I love Kingsley Edge. With sincere apologies to his beloved Juliette, I bonded with him the first time he posed the question “Have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?”. From the time I read about that poor sad boy who gets exiled to a Jesuit boarding school for his own protection in The Prince to the king of Manhattan who exiles himself to Haiti in The Virgin, I have longed to see Kingsley find the person who will belong to him and him alone. Of course I love the relationship between Kingsley, Søren, and Nora. And I love the depth of the love Kingsley has for Søren and the love that Søren tries not to show for Kingsley. I also love the unique bond Kingsley has with Nora because of the love they each have for Søren. If you’re thinking that’s a complex triangle as well as a complex sentence, you’re right. I really want Kingsley to have a love of his very own..nothing vanilla mind you, but a love that will complete him as a character. While Kingsley has exiled himself to a tropical island, Nora has exiled herself to (don’t laugh!) a convent where she encounters a young nun who vows to help Nora figure out what she’s supposed to do with her life. Kyrie is written as a tiny sprite-like girl. Angelic and ethereal in appearance, she is also a virgin. Despite her innocence, Kyrie has a spirit of adventure so don’t assume Nora is the seducer! I think astute readers will find at least one of the scenes between Nora and Kyrie parallels a particularly emotional scene between young Søren and Kingsley in The Prince. . .look for it! Tiffany Reisz has a unique talent for making readers want to turn back to the first chapter and start over as soon as they read the last word in a book. The Virgin is no exception. How does she do that time after time? How does she create a plot so intricate that each time I re-read one of the earlier books or read a new one, I find new facets to the characters, more pieces in the well-loved puzzle? I can never get enough of this story. With all the revelations and plot twists and a cliffhanger of an ending that will leave you shaking your head and turning back to the first page, The Virgin is like a good Chinese meal….delicious and satisfying, but in a short while you’re hungry for more. And guess what! While you were gorging yourself on Chinese. . .our crafty author sneaked in and rearranged your puzzle leaving you with a whole new group of missing pieces. Tiffany Reisz is invariably kind to her readers and has written a number of tidbits outside the novels to hold the starving masses at bay. Some of these can be found on her website. Do yourself a favor and read every word she has written. Your hunger will be appeased and you will have bonus pieces for your Sinners puzzle.

When I turned on my Kindle to begin reading The Virgin, I expected a great novel. Tiffany Reisz always writes in a solid and dependable fashion. I agree some of her novels are more enjoyable than others, but I have always found them entertaining. Reisz wholeheartedly captured my attention with this story. My eyes were glued to the pages, and when I finished reading, I couldn’t wait to sit down and begin writing my review. The Virgin has the same magic of The Siren and The Angel, and I absolutely loved it!

For all intents and purposes, I began reading this story blind. I knew we would learn about the year Nora spent at her mother’s convent. I also knew Nora had an affair with a nun while she was staying at the convent, so I expected some sexy time between the two of them. This was, however, the limit to my knowledge of the plot.

If you follow The Original Sinners series, you may have noticed we are missing an important piece to the puzzle. I have read each of the novels in this series, and I have patiently waited for an explanation why Nora would walk away from Soren and Kingsley. Prepare yourself because it’s not just an explanation. You are able to experience what happened between these characters. Tiffany Reisz drops us right into an emotionally charged situation. It could possibly be the crowning moment of this series because what happened between them certainly changed the direction of each of their lives.

Nora and Kingsley and Soren. They have such a rich history together. Throughout the previous six novels of this series, Reisz has sprinkled bits and pieces and segments of their lives, but not necessarily in chronological order. We’ve seen Nora at many different stages of her life. Elle Schreiber in her teenage years. Eleanor as Soren’s submissive. Author of erotic novels, Nora Sutherlin. Professional Dominatrix of the Underground, Mistress Nora. We’ve read about the period of time Kingsley and Soren were lovers in boarding school. We’ve also met Kingsley Edge, the King of the Underground. And my personal favorite is Father Marcus Stearns, Catholic Jesuit Priest.

But in The Virgin, Reisz writes about a period of time we have not yet had the privilege to read about – the events which take place just before The Siren. I finally understand Nora’s state of mind during the early stages of her writing career – when Wes Railey was living with Nora, and she was working for Kingsley as a professional Dominatrix. Nora’s disposition towards Soren during that period of time has always been a mystery to me. And now that I have read The Virgin, everything has become so much clearer. I want to pick up my copy of The Siren and begin rereading the series!

I love Kingsley Edge, but his character has always been more interesting to me when he is with Nora and Soren. So I was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading about Kingsley and Juliette. We have never had the opportunity to read how Kingsley met Juliette before now. We’ve never heard how she became such an important part of his life. The only thing I can tell you is it all goes back to Soren and Eleanor. Kingsley would have never had the opportunity to meet Juliette if the events between him, Nora and Soren had not occurred as they did. Their story is unusual, but I found it lovely.

The Virgin is the seventh novel of The Original Sinners series, and I’m awarding it a 6-star rating. If you have never had the opportunity to read The Siren, the first novel of this series, I highly recommend it. The characters are so compelling, and they each have intriguing backstories. The Original Sinners series is definitely untraditional and erotica at its finest!

The Virgin (The Original Sinners: White Years, #3) by Tiffany Reisz
    5 stars!!

“It was a dark and stormy night…”

I can say with certainty that this series is one of my favourites of all time. There is something about the forbidden and the world of kink, you would never ever think that the two should ever meet, but the world that Tiffany Reisz has created you could never imagine them not. The three main characters Soren, Nora and Kingsley belong together, they are partners in crime and share such an intense bond that you can never imagine it being broken. These three have been through so much together and yet united they stand, their trust never wavering and their protectiveness and love for each other never falters, even when they are apart.

    “Jabberwocky.”

Tiffany teases us with the start of this book, Soren, Nora and Kingsley are at a wedding in a Scottish castle, but whose wedding is it? As much as I was desperate to know and we don’t find out until the end, what transpired in between had me thoroughly captivated and a sobbing mess in places.

We all know that there was a year when Soren, Nora and Kingsley were apart. Something had happened and Nora had fled and Kingsley followed soon after. The year is never mentioned, but never forgotten and sometimes it is best to lay old ghosts to rest. With these three reminiscing about that year we are finally treated to what really happened during that “lost year.” Through alternating flashbacks with Nora and Kingsley, we finally find out what happened.

“I had to work to love her. It didn‘t come easy. You chose her over me and it hurt, and it will always hurt. But I learned to love her despite all that, and that should tell you how close we are that I could overcome how much I wanted to hate her. You were right about her, about what she could be to us. But I was right, too. I was right, and you didn’t listen to me.” - Kingsley on Nora to Soren

Nora sought refuge in the only place she felt that Soren couldn’t get to her, her mothers Abbey. Surrounding herself with nun’s, although she felt protected and safe, she always felt alone. With time on her hands Nora began a voyage of self discovery, reflecting on her past and after meeting someone finally found her true calling. As you can imagine it is hard for Nora to be celibate so I will say there are some F/F scenes in here, they are few and far between but they are beautiful and touching none the less. I have never read F/F before but Tiffany Reisz manages to pour every single emotion into those scenes, you cannot help but be moved and sucked into their story.

“You’re two people to me - Father Marcus Stearns and Soren - and I love both of you. I’m Eleanor and Nora. I was angry at you for so long because I loved both of you, and you weren’t willing to love both of me.”

Kingsley decided to tour the world and he ended up in Haiti where he met his Juliette. You will see Kingsley totally different after hearing his account. Can you ever imagine Kingsley without his suits and boots? In dirty Khaki’s and shirts? Kingsley, like Nora has a lot of time for reflection and we are treated to a very different side of Kingsley Edge. It was beautiful to see this side of Kingsley, it was Kingsley at his most open and most vulnerable and for once, we got to see the real man. It takes one woman to change this man and now it was his fight to make her his, but would this be a battle he could win?

“I used to think you walked on water…now I know you’re drowning like the rest of us.” - Kingsley on Soren

I have to applaud Tiffany Reisz, after seven books I am still not satiated, this is one series that I never want to end, I could read about this group in perpetuity. I am eagerly anticipating yet dreading The Queen as I really do not want this series to end, so it is bittersweet. There is no series like it and it is this unique story that has your heart racing and aching all at the same time. Tiffany has such a way with words, her stories are like a journey with friends, you live and breathe their lives with them, they have become my friends, when they hurt, I hurt, when they laugh, I laugh. It is not often an author can brand their characters into your heart and head, but for me at least, these three and their other group of misfits will never leave me.

“We’re all carriers. Original sin, remember…”

If you haven’t read this series, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

    Series reading order:

    The Siren
    The Angel
    The Prince
    The Mistress
    The Saint
    The King
    The Virgin
The Queen (expected release 27th October 2015)

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm on my knees, bowing deep to the Queen Tiffany Reisz!

Another 5 billion stars and I'm on my knees, bowing deep to the Queen Tiffany Reisz!
I'm amazed time and time again by her outstanding, brilliant, humorous, flirty, insightful writing that my review will never ever be able to do justice. This series is on top of my all time favorites!

This series, its story and their unique, kinky, filthy, very special characters have me addicted since the first book and I fall in love with them and under their spell every time again. You are sucked in from the first page to the last!

So, after we found out how Kingsley built his kingdom in The King, in The Virgin when Nora Sutherlin decided to become a writer and about THAT YEAR! Even after all those years together, apart, in love and hate, Søren, Nora and Kingsley have never ever talked about this painful year until this evening.
It all starts at the evening before a wedding and a heated moment when Nora spills "I f*** a nun at my mother's convent,". And it's only because of that one sentence that Nora and Kingsley finally reveal all the pain and reasons why they left and where they've been.

After Nora made the painful decision not to have Kings baby, she has to tell Søren as well what happened in his absence. A heated discussion and a one-sided decision only lead to one thing - Nora using her safeword and leaving. But where do you go when you are lost, when you don't want to be found, when you're confused and hurt. Normal people would go to their parents most likely. But what is normal? And we know Nora doesn't have a good relationship with her mum. And yet, her mum is her only sanctuary or better said, the convent her mum lives in now is her sanctuary as no men are allowed.

At a place where you have to work hard, follow orders and have to be celibate, Nora has a lot of time to think. Think about herself, her life, Søren and Kingsley, and what to do when she has to leave. What can she do? Until a young nun arrives, Nora didn't wanted to think about it too much. It's this young Kyrie who shows her with a determantion what Nora is capable of and there is a future for her outside the convent. And it wouldn't be a typical friendship, if even behind the sacred walls of the convent Nora is able to add a little kink to their friendship.

While Nora hides in the convent, Kingsley is running away and around the world until he lands in Haiti. Still not knowing what fully happened between Søren and Nora, and not willing to help Søren (because who can say no to him?), he runs away as well. But not only the unknowing is forcing him, also his shame and grief and guilt are driving him. Nearly bored with nothing to do other than think and grieve, he is about to head home when he mets her - Juliette. A woman already owned and bound to a man she owes big. Or so she believes. What was only meant to be a night of kink and pleasure, turns into a kind of addiction. A need for more. Neither Kingsley nor Juliette can stay away from each other. But their way to finally be together isn't an easy one and at times it doesn't look like there would be a way for them.

When Nora finally tells Kyrie what happened that night she left Søren and when Kingsley comes back and confronts Søren, my heart was broken and the tears wouldn't wanted to stop. So many pieces fall into place, so many things do make much more sense and it makes you fall for all of them and their story even more. Even when it gets really hot and kinky, all those deeper feelings make your heart ache for all of them. You're pulled in right from the beginning and the switch between Nora's to Kingsley's story drive you even more to turn the page.

The White years start and end with a current event that alone would drive you crazy to turn the page. We are always left with big questions when the past telling begins. You nearly forget about it because of those events, if Mrs. Reisz wouldn't go back to the current event a time or two to remind you and drive you nuts again.

I just can't emphasize enough how awesome the writing is and what a talented and outstanding writer Tiffany Reisz is. She has created some very complex, unique and great characters. They are filthy and kinky and totally unconventional. They have lots of flaws and you might hate them a time or two. But they are always true to themselves and know who they are. They aren't perfect and you only love them for that and for what they are.
Their deep love and relationships might not be normal, but then what is? It's their happiness that counts and if it works the way it does for them than WTF cares? If you have read all the books and short stories you also know, it wouldn't work for them any other way. They except each other as they are, love each other for it and because of it. It's a love that runs so much deeper than one can see.

If it isn't fully clear...I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book and I need to read The Queen ASAP!!!!
