REUNITED WITH THE RANCHER 🤠 (WARNING SPOILERS)
I liked & my heart broke 💔 for the children. I liked learning the facts about PTSD, Autism, & service dog. I didn't like Carson. I love ❤ Brenda Minton books 📚 but not this one.

Kylie and Carson were thirteen year old sweethearts, sharing their first kiss, promising to marry each other. Kylie’s home life was non-existent. Carson’s home was stressful with an angry dad. In his early teens, Carson’s mom left with him and his two younger siblings. His dad is a Vietnam Vet and suffered with his past endlessly. Kylie was heartbroken when Carson moved and she joined the service for active duty. Twenty years later, Carson returns home as a single dad with the intent of confronting his dad, Jack. But, now Jack’s changed his rundown ranch into Mercy Ranch. It’s a ranch for Vets who are broken physically, mentally and spiritually. Kylie now works there and falls in love with three year old Maggie and five year old Andy. Will Carson leave again or reconcile with his ailing dad? Will he follow God’s leading or follow his own plans? This is a great story of forgiveness and leaving the past where it belongs - behind!

I would recommend to anyone who would like a story easy to back to after not reading a day or two. I just reread a page or so and the story began again.. Really liked that about this book.

Carson West, a widower with two young children, is stopping by to confront his alcoholic father at the ranch where Carson grew up as a young boy. But nothing there is as Carson expected it to be. The ranch has been converted to a place for recovering veterans. Carson's girlfriend as a twelve year old, Kylie Baker, is still there, but she has been permanently injured. There is a man that looks like he might be related--maybe even an unknown brother, because he has the West coloring and eyes, and Carson's dad is nothing like he remembered him. The surprising thing is that the ranch has things to offer Carson's autistic 5 year old son, toddler girl, and is even in need of a general practitioner. Carson wants none of it, until his heart is softened with the option of help with a service dog for his son.
