Cereal City Guide: Paris (Cereal City Guides) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 261 ratings

The acclaimed travel and style magazine presents a curated portrait of Paris for visitors with a passion for culture, design, and architecture.

Inspired by their extensive travel for the magazine, Cereal founders Rich Stapleton and Rosa Park began issuing a series of city guides that highlight their favorite places to visit. Curated rather than comprehensive,
Cereal City Guide: Paris explores points of interest and venues that reflect Cereal’s aesthetic and unique sensibility.

Rich and Rosa have personally visited hundreds of venues in Paris, distilling their preferred locales down to their firm favorites. From lively, local cafés to design-driven boutiques that channel the inimitable Parisian
savoir faire, these hidden treasures offer a more personal take on the city.

Meticulously researched and illustrated with original photography, this guide includes photo essays of the city, an illustrated neighborhood map, interviews and essays from celebrated locals, essential architectural points of interest, museums, galleries, day trips outside the city, and unique goods to buy.

Due to its large file size, this book may take longer to download

Review

“When traveling, I want each minute of my limited time to be well spent, in the right places. Planning for this can be daunting. No more sifting through blogs and dense guide books to make my itinerary. Cereal has done it for me, in the most beautiful way.”―Erin Gleeson, the New York Times bestselling author of The Forest Feast and the upcoming The Forest Feast Travels

"
Cereal City Guides take a different approach to travel. They invite you to sit quietly in cafes favored by locals and meander down less-traveled paths to places of interest you’ve probably never heard of. Filled with handsome visuals and practical advice, they're exactly what you need to walk away feeling like you've experienced the stylish soul of a city."―Emma Reddington, style director at House & Home

“This beautifully shot guide boasts a precise selection that blends historic Parisian institutions and emerging spots with a focus on good taste and design.”―
Patrick Seguin, gallerist

“What I love about these guides is the strength of the perspective. Everything inessential has been rigorously pared away, leaving a very focused take on each city.”―
John Pawson, architect

“Less is always more for me and these guides are the epitome of that. They're a really lovely cherry-picked selection of things to do and see across our favorite cities. They are thoughtful, special, and a real essential when traveling.”―
Alex Eagle, creative director

“A beautifully curated guide . . . and a must read for all food, fashion, art, and design lovers.”―
Rejina Pyo, fashion designer

Cereal City Guides always give me that detail that I yearn for as a creative person when I’m traveling to my favorite cities. Rosa Park and Rich Stapleton work in total in harmony . . . Rich with his eye for beauty, perfection, and detail that is so enriching, and Rosa with her eye for finding the detail and perfection in all aspects of life, which is so satisfying. The combination is intriguing and inspiring.”―Lyn Harris, perfumer

Cereal City Guides turn cities into characters. They are like inspiring movies. Something that invites us instantly and intensely to go to what we already love, even if we have not gone yet. These are the memories of the journeys we want to take.”―Frédéric Forest, illustrator & designer

“For as much as I value the sense of discovery, it is comforting to know that you can trust a great recommendation when you decide to reach out. These guides provide an insightful perspective with Rich Stapleton’s beautiful photography making you look at things in new ways.”―
Michael Anastassiades, designer

Having been to Paris several years ago I wished I had the book before my trip. Now when she goes she will plan her trip with the book. I think the book is an invaluable travel asset for anyone traveling to Paris.

Someone gave me this book as a gift because i am going to paris in 10 days. i've been to paris 4 times but this book will still be useful to me. also, it is very beautiful and makes a nice gift that someone can put on a coffee table or look at from time to time because it has beautiful photos.

Beautiful book, lovely design and layout, but very modern. If you’re looking for hip, modern and swanky places to visit in Paris, this is for you. Unfortunately for me, the recommendations are very standard fare (swanky hipster coffee, modern fashion, lush hotels). I was hoping for a bit more historically interesting sites. I’m from SF and the places in this book are uber similar to my everyday scenes. I recommend Messy Nessy’s Don’t be a Tourist guide if you want more unique recommendations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bellissima guida "alternativa" di Parigi
Reviewed in Italy on April 16, 2023
Bellissima guida compresa di foto, bella esteticamente anche come libro da tavolino. Piena di consigli su bar/ristoranti di nicchia, una guida alternativa che consiglio a chi è già stato più volte a Parigi e desidera viversela in maniera diversa.
