You have to suspend your belief in reality a bit to get through this one, but if you want action, this one is packed with it. Abigail Murphy, a wilderness guide, has been hired by DEA agent Jesse Santorum to take him to a fishing spot. He's hired her to guide him in, and then told her her services would not be needed to get him out. He's doing it to protect her. His intent is to find a drug plane landed there, and clear his name from beig framed for drug theft. However, the criminal minds behind the drugs have other things in mind. They have followed them in. They grab Abigail, and Jesse has to free her. The action does not just stay on the mountain. It is all over a number of places. There are frightening chase scenes, and a whole lot of drama, near death events, and crazy scenarios. You will definitely stay awake reading.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Wilderness Secrets. I really enjoy Sharon's books. She writes a great intrigue. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.

DEA Agent Jesse Santorum has been investigating a drug cartel. Now he has been framed, he must reach the plane hidden in the mountains before the drug cartel does. He must hire a guide to take him into the wilderness. His co-worker had told him that he had framed him just before he died. Jesse will take the drugs, the plane, and fly out of this wilderness. He doesn't need the guide to take him out. After she leaves he is searching the area when he sees two men grab Abigail.

Wilderness Guide Abigail Murphy was just plain mad. Jesse had hired her to take him up the mountain to fish. He said he didn't need her to guide him back. That man is keeping something from her. But then he was a man and she just found out you can't trust them. Brent's betrayal has almost destroyed her. She'll never trust another man. As she stomped through the forest she is abducted by two men.

A journey through the wilderness chased by drug dealers and killers. They must learn to trust each other and in their Lord. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil.

I can't really give it more than an average rating. I always think it's difficult to do both a believable romance and suspense in the page limit of Love Inspired Suspense. This book is an example of that. The suspense/action part of the story is crazy--just when you think they've gotten out of peril, boom! They're back in it.

Jesse and Abigail meet when he hires her to guide him in to the wilderness for "fishing". The whole action part probably takes place in less than a week, so they've only known each other that long and supposedly they already know they're in love. They're still in the infatuation stage of a relationship at that point. And while I don't have a problem with each appreciating the other's skillset, once the adrenaline wears off, how do you know you'd be compatible on an everyday basis?

I also don't buy Jesse's "you should become an agent and we can work together" line--I think most agencies separate relations (especially when it comes to fieldwork).

It starts off with a slight pressure and goes uphill to the last words. A great quick book for reading

The book seemed well edited, no major grammatical issues to distract the reader. However, I had a difficult time connecting with and relating to the characters.
