About the author

Chris Baker enjoyed a successful career within the printing industry, spanning 25 years - taking him all over the world.
More recently Chris returned to his lifelong passion of astronomy by creating an art business based upon his astro-photography. Now his photographs of deep space can be found in homes and offices across the globe.
In 2017 Chris was commissioned to write a book based on his images of space. ‘Photographing the Deep Sky - Images in Space and Time’, was published by White Owl Books in May 2018.
Chris began writing his first novel, ‘The Girl Who Sewed Parachutes’ in early 2018 - this was published in May 2020. He is now working on his second, due for publication in Autumn 2022.
Chris and his wife Fiona divide their time between homes in Hertfordshire and Devon. He is inspired to write during long walks and cycle rides in the Chilterns and on Dartmoor.
They have two grown up sons, Alistair and Tim who both live with their partners in London.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2024The write-up for each image is interesting. Space is never-ending. There has to be another life somewhere, and we can't be the only ones. Some of the images are like 7000 light years away. You figure Earth years; that is a long trip. This book is well done. This is a must-have book if you're interested in the universe.
