Beyond Invincible: Live Large, Live Long, and Leave a Profound Legacy Kindle Edition
Beyond Invincible urges Alpha Entrepreneurs to live larger and longer with abundant success and leave a profound legacy of significance. This is the story of Phil, a rock star entrepreneur whose life was tragically cut short because he thought he was invincible. Jennifer L. Carroll shares the true story of her husband of twenty-two years, who built a multimillion-dollar houseboating business by age twenty-five, married the love of his life, traveled to nearly fifty countries, ran numerous triathlons, raised two children, and had an unstoppable spirit.
Tragically, he was stopped—at age fifty-two by prostate cancer—because he wasn’t proactive about his health. Yet, at the end of his life he was able to say that he had nothing left on his bucket list . . . except to be the world’s greatest grandfather. Entrepreneurs can live large, but they also need to live long. Jennifer speaks to entrepreneurs and their spouses as she entertains, educates, and saves lives by sharing Phil’s story—and the lessons learned. Treat your health the way you treat your businesses, do the due diligence of getting checked, add years to your life, and leave a profound legacy!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2018I am delighted with this book, for several reasons. One reason is that Jennifer follows a heartfelt and upbeat narrative on life lessons derived from her experience on following Phil on this ordeal through his final days surrounded by love. I am a 3-time cancer survivor and all the content in the book is intimately relatable and uplifting, I can't stress enough how important is to have this book's message out there!
Her main idea is that there is no ONE ‘magic bullet cure’ for cancer and that every one, every successful entrepreneur (like Phil) as Invincible as they feel, has to be informed and getting checked to keep health top notch. No two person’s ideal protocol will be the same as anybody else’s ideal protocol, as we are all unique, we all have a unique body, and everybody’s cancer is unique. The is no ‘recipe’ by which to recover from cancer, everybody has to write their own recipe, and the story written here will make you think, will make you laugh and you will connect to the point where tears show up.
This is a compelling, elegantly-written book which holds the reader’s attention and leaves you better informed about a wide variety of aspects on how important is to be AWARE. Primarily aimed at executives, entrepreneurs, it is easily readable, while still providing a significant amount of depth. You will enjoy it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2018I read this book on the plane and couldn't stop crying and laughing! Had to use the rough napkin to wipe my tears. Couldn't put it down. Wonderful storytelling and a life that seems like something out of a movie. Yet, with all the glitz and glamour, there are amazing connections to any reader regardless of your age, profession and relationship status. This a great love story and not just between a husband and wife. Family love and deep friendship. Makes me want to be a better friend. I love how this author tells her husband and family's life story and then gets you the reader to think how you would feel, what you can do to be better. If only self help books could be this interesting, funny and emotional! Highly recommend...just be sure you have a box of tissues near by and don't read it on a full bladder! :)
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018I read it this afternoon laying in the beach on Vacation. Firstly some amazing things happened. I am not a big reader. I listen to a lot of audio books, but very rarely read a physical book. I read this book all in one go. Which I have actually never done before ever.... Then i cried. I’m normally pretty unemotional, but reading the book made me cry like a baby. Your passion, I felt like I was living your life with you. Laughing and crying with you.
So thank you for sharing your story. I laughed irrationally, cried like a baby and my life has been challenged to its core. I know that reading the book will change the way I love my wife, father my kids and lead my organisation.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2018This book was given to me as a gift. I opened it as soon as I got home and found that I just couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it cover to cover. Jennifer is a wonderful story teller! She brings Phil’s story to life with laughter and tears. His never ending optimism and desire to life his best life is inspiring. Her courageous sharing of his struggles is heart breaking and such a good reminder to all men to never take their health for granted and be proactive. Phil lived big and his legacy is even bigger. Thank you so much Jennifer for sharing your story. So many men will benefit from your openness and honesty!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2018Jennifer Carroll did an amazing job of bring her story alive. She takes you on journey that brings out all of your emotions. I read her book while I was on a 4 hour flight. I went from giggling, laughing, anger, tears to sobbing. When I was done with the book with tears in my eyes but a smile on my face, the flight attendant came by just to “check “ on me and to see what I was reading. I handed her the book and told her it was worth her time to read it and hopefully save the life of someone she loves. Bravo Jennifer. May your book bring arrogance to awareness.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2018This book is very insightful, you learn a lot about preventative health . Phil was in the prime of his life and had everything going his way and then one day things changes.
This book will take you on a journey. You will understand what is so important in our lives today. Health, family and friends and losing someone very close to you, how it affects your family and everyone. Especially his wife and his kids that he loved so much. I highly recommend this book to help others. It helped my husband and he went to the dr.
It’s a great read
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2018This book has stuck in my brain. From the love story, to the funny vignettes, to the family tragedy, to the prescriptive PHILosophies; I enjoyed every page. I found myself relating to the message about not thinking I'm invincible. I tend to think I don't need to see a doctor, get checked and be sure. Taking chances with your health is FAR too overrated. This book was given to me by a woman I love... and ... now I know why. I want to leave a legacy for my future generations and Beyond Invincible was just the "whack on the side of my head" that I needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not put it down. Loved it!
Surpringly engaging, easy to read, moving, emotional, funny, inspiring, thought provoking, endearing and eye opening. An endearing roller-coaster ride of highs and lows that are life, lessons of family, entrepreneurship and friendship with the power to make you smile, weep, reflect but mostly have a deep respect for what's truly important when it's all said and done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn’t put this book down!
Beautifully written book with an authentic message. Loved going on the journey with Jennifer and her family through love, life, adventure and unfortunatrly - tragedy. I loved the “Phil-osophies” and the way they were integrated into the book as powerful messages.
