4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 73 ratings

Told in rhyming verse and beautiful illustrations, this clever Christmas romance is the ideal gift for Austen fans of all ages.

Clement Clarke Moore's holiday classic The Night Before Christmas meets Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice when Mr. Darcy gets his own visit from St. Nicholas. In this parody of the beloved original poem, Santa teaches Darcy the true meaning of the holiday and helps him get what he's always wanted—a wife!

Mr. Darcy’s Night Before Christmas is part of a series of illustrated verse books based on classic literary characters. All written by Julie Petersen and illustrated by Sheryl Dickert, the others include Sherlock’s Night Before Christmas and Scrooge’s Night Before Christmas.

I purchased this as a Christmas Gift for myself. The lyrical wit and the beautiful drawings make this a keeper for me. And I’m not even an obsessed fan of Pride & Prejudice! This has a permanent spot on my Christmas bookshelf.Delivery was quick, the book was in excellent condition. There were some minor smudges on the back cover and residue from a prior sticker over the barcode. Both removed via a Clorox wipe as everything I receive now is cleaned upon delivery.

I am a Jane Austen fan and I loved this. It doesn't follow the exact storyline, but still really cute. A perfect addition to my Christmas Stockings. Thanks

I think this would make a delightful gift for any Austen fan. I agree with all the previous reviews that used the words cute, adorable, and charming. The illustrations were well done. The size makes it a perfect stocking stuffer.

I received this book in my Christmas stocking - what a charming surprise it was! Although, experts can't agree on whether it was Clement C. Moore or Henry Livingstone Jnr. wrote "T'was the Night Before Christmas (A Visit from St. Nicholas) this variation by Julie Petersen, delightfully illustrated by Sheryl Dicker has been universally praised by reviewers made a wonderful alternate option to the traditional yarn/poem. Also, it makes a pretty Christmas room-decoration (on a coffee table or bureau).

Plot Spoilers.

A night-time visit from Santa offered him the opportunity to change things. A sleigh ride to visit Rosings Park, the Bingley's London home & an orphanage ended up at Longbourn, where Santa explained which of the two gentleman from Derbyshire was on the 'Nice list' & who regularly featured on the 'Naughty' one. The happy couple farewelled Santa as he continued on his nocturnal round of bringing joy to many throughout the land (& beyond).

4.0 out of 5 stars Embalagem ruim, falta de cuidado
