Brandt Trebor has been a writer ever since first grade, where his dissertation about "Becoming a circus performer when he grows up" was quite well received by his first grade teacher. In fact, he was even made “Special Person.” Granted, every student became special person, but Brandt knew this was just the start.

Insert 30 years and a multitude of career pursuits, and the full circle completed with him writing yet again. Though he mainly writes young adult fantasy, he also enjoys reading. He mainly reads fantasy but he'll give just about anything a read.

He also plays ping pong, loves hard cider (go Vandermills!), and he considers himself a gamer, despite his continued losses in Starcraft2, Hearthstone, Catan, and a wide variety of board and video games. He also love Ultimate Frisbee and traveling.

Most importantly, he loves his wife and his family, because if he did not put that down here, she would somehow find out and then he would most certainly be grounded. Seriously, he would get a 3 day time-out or more.

I wish I could read this for the first time again!
What a phenomenal story, I can't even express how much I enjoyed this. The story telling is top notch, it's exciting, fun, the danger feels real and ultimately I found myself thinking about what was going to happen next when I wasn't reading it. I can't wait for the next book!

    This book is a hidden gem. It’s rare to find a character-driven novel that grabs you so hard, you can’t put it down and find yourself at three in the morning craving the next installment. There was not a dull moment to be found in the flashbacks, duels, and Slicy's heartwarming character development. I absolutely grew an attachment to the characters and can't wait to see what Brandt has in store for us in the sequel!
