Review
“Nothing adds movement, delicious irregularity, and personality to textiles the way hand-dyeing can, and Joyce’s new tome will have you moved to the dyeing bucket in minutes. With gorgeous photography, a clear vision, and a delicate sensibility, this book will not only be inspiring to DIYers and crafters but also to designers, stylists, and anyone who loves color and pattern.”―Justina Blakeney, designer, founder of Jungalow, and author of The New Bohemians

- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2019I’ll start off by saying I’m a little perplexed by some of the negative reviews. No where does this book claim to be a masters guide to complex dyeing techniques. As a beginner I found this book to be well written, informative, and inspirational. I’ve followed the author Anna Joyce on Instagram for a few years and her take on fabric dyeing is so refreshing and appealing to me, so when she published this book I didn’t think twice about purchasing it. I’ve already made several items and plan on making much more. If you’ve ever wanted to try fabric dyeing that is more than just tie dye spirals, I highly recommend adding this book to your collection.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2020Anna’s book and her work has truly been the highlight of our family during this difficult pandemic. Not only is this book incredibly beautiful, but the step by step instructions are perfect for adults and kids alike. The projects vary in style, type and complexity, and every, single one of them is clearly outlined, allowing any person using the book to produce beautiful pieces. If I could give this book a million stars I would! Thank you, Anna. This book will be a life long, family favorite.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2019This book is a great read, plenty of how to dye information and projects in a very nice looking hard cover book. I am now an avid tie dye enthusiast, looking EVERYWHERE and sometimes anywhere for my next project. I gifted a copy of this book to a dear friend after she hosted her first tie dye party (Sip & Dip) a few months ago. This book has information for the newbie and the more experienced fiber artist. Worth the price!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2019"Hand Dyed", by Anna Joyce, is in every way - spectacular! The projects are inspiring, the photography is magnificent and the detailed information is concise - easy to understand. I have read the book cover to cover, and am excited to use Anna's "Indigo Dye Kit" to create my own works of art. This beautiful book belongs in every crafter's library.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2019I was so excited to see this book advertised and its even better in person. I have Anna Joyce's first book, Stamp, Stencil, Paint and I did several of the projects. My daughter is getting into tie dye and so this book comes along at the perfect time. I am a novice dyer and have always been nervous to try it because it seems to messy! I live in Portland and Anna's beautiful shop has inspired me. The sun is coming out and the hammock project looks so dreamy. I think I am going to plan that as my first project. It will be on my coffee table in the meantime...
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2021Was having a hard time finding information on dyeing cotton yarn. Although this book is mostly about using fabrics and tie dye like projects, it has a mountain of useful information

4.0 out of 5 stars Great and informative for a beginner dyer!
Wonderful book for a beginner dyer, clear instructions which are easy to follow.
I purchased as I follow Anna on Instagram and wanted to support her work.
Only criticism is that some bits of writing seem a bit repetitive/cut and pasted to fill space, but doesn’t retract from the quality at all!
