She has studied psychology, spirituality, mind-body science, and mentored with Don Miguel Ruiz, the author of The Four Agreements, for 8 years in her efforts to find what helps women overcome anxiety. Dr. Kate Dow is an author, speaker and business consultant. For over 30 years, she has been passionately supporting women, entrepreneurs and leaders. She has struggled with anxiety throughout her life and sought to find mind-body-spirit modalities i.e.. don Miguel Ruiz’s Toltec Teachings that make a real difference. She founded Sacred Transitions in 1995 to offer powerful growth and transformation for women in practical, compassionate ways. She is a loving mother of two college students, her two dogs and her black cat Jack. She continues to be enchanted and blessed to live in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This book is able to transfer a secret power into a force to transform one's life instead of fearing to live fully into our highest potential.     Dr. Kate Dow's book was extremely helpful. Dr. Dow takes on difficult topics in a very approachable and easy to digest approach. Her book helped me see the things that I've struggled with for many years in an entirely new way and gave me some really tangible and practical tips and practices that have been instrumental in helping me shed old patterns that were simply holding me back.     This author’s clear, well-organized, straightforward writing style enables the reader to easily comprehend the content. It was as if she were speaking directly to me!
    I’ve had chronic back pain for years and ignored it because I was busy being mom, teacher, wife, woman. I’ve done external self care treatments such as massage, yoga, physical therapy, and diet resulting in temporary relief. I always knew my pain originated from stress, anxiety, nervousness and fear but this book made me realize I’ve been suppressing my emotions. My inner critic controls me with old thought patterns, childhood trauma, anger at family members, blaming others. My poor body image and low self esteem created poor posture which manifested into physical pain and degeneration over time. Dr. Kate Dow gives clear information and practical exercises using love and compassion to deal with fear and anxiety. Don’t wait to take care of your pain and suffering. Let this book give you the tools to begin your true self care journey.

    If you - or someone you know - are bone-tired of living the ravages of anxiety and want your life back, I highly recommend this book. With empathy and insight, Kate offers a path for “changing our old default patterns in our brains and bodies so we can be in charge.” Kate has clearly lived this path, refusing to be taken down by fear in truly daunting situations any woman can relate to. Gently and incisively, she guides us back to our body where anxiety takes hold and shapes our perceptions, thoughts and actions. In my own somatically oriented executive coaching practice, I consistently encounter accomplished leaders who battle with anxiety and need better options for leading under pressure. We all get to benefit from Kate’s tenacious commitment to living a beautiful, luscious life with grace. This book could be a beacon of light in a very dark place to take the steps you need for “showing up and living with new awareness of yourself, which will empower you to live a life without anxiety.”

    Not only is this a book filled with great wisdom and guidance, but it's also an enjoyable read and I couldn't put it down! I loved the characterization of the Queen, Heroine, and Goddess to illustrate the mind-body-spirit connection. From the great examples and stories to the end-of-chapter main messages, tools, and affirmations, this book is chock-full of value. This is a book that I'll be sharing with all the amazing women in my life, especially those who suffer from anxiety.

    Dr. Kate Dow’s authentic voice and depth of experience leap off the page. In dealing with her own life challenges and anxiety (experiences most women can relate to), she has discovered archetypes for inspiration and guidance. Her method of harnessing anxiety to optimize your life and your experience is an invaluable tool that will help many, many people. If you deal with anxiety at any level, please read this book.     With Dr. Kate's wise words, "Self-care starves anxiety", you may very well do what I did and weep. A good weep. A weep that comes from having read and recognized a deep truth. This book is amazing. If you've ever wondered how to manage your daily or even seasonal anxiety, you'll be glad you found this book and adopted Kate's practice. Doing so will help you transform your anxiety into self-awareness and strength. This is a must read for all of us. I am honored to have read and be recommending this treasure.
