A lot has happened in the city since 2018 when published. Says something! I know it would be work, but a refresh would be nice. The skyscraper Hudson Tower. Rehabbed Michigan Central and Book Tower, etc. The expanded Riverwalk...

Few places/sections could be updated. Or expanded by a paragraph. And maybe a couple sections (3 pages on the life and times of Joe Louis!) could be scaled back.

But as is, a lot of great history and trivia!

Karin Risko's readable guide to Detroit, organized by neighborhood, is filled with nuggets of history that make this hometown girl want to go on a city tour! Touching on the obscure as well as the known, it is a love letter to the Motor City. I recommend it to both native Detroiters and those new to the area.
