Plot sucked me right in. Total heart break, time travel by a normal guy, and more. Well worth the read.

This was a fun book, and I leave it to the other 4 and 5 star reviews to tell you more about the enjoyable parts of the story. The writer has great potential, but could definitely use the help of a developmental editor. All time travel books are problematic because no one can figure out what would happen if things were changed in the past. Spoilers ahead: once Martin figures out that his wife killed his daughter, why doesn't he go back to 2018 and then return to 1996 a few hours earlier and confront his brother Daniel, thus preventing Izzy's murder? What was up with Sonya's secret life? There are several allusions to the fact that she is part of some plot to exploit Martin, but that is just glossed over at the end of the book. The sub-plot about Columbine was very bizarre. I wanted to know if Harris and Klebold died in the fire. What led to the fire? Why so much time and effort put into the build up of delivering the letter, only to have that be totally irrelevant? And about Calvin. If someone from the future wanted to study the impeachment process, they only had to go back to 2020, or some other recent year, and look it up on google. It made absolutely no sense that Calvin would be running a liquor store in 1996 in a suburb of Denver if he was interested in the impeachment process. He would at least be in Washington, DC, if not, as I said, just go to the past before the internet was censored and read about it on wikipedia. Or get some books from a library and then return to his own time. Final suggestion -- stop using the word "smirk" in every other sentence. Having complained a bunch, I have to say I think the author is extremely talented and wish his great success.

Ultimate page-turner. Easy, entertaining read. I loved how the story wasn’t predictable — you couldn’t anticipate what would happen next. Can’t wait to get into the next book of the series!

It got a little “cluttered” and the story didn’t really flow well. But it was worth the read, I guess.

I LOVE time-travel stories, and the mechanics of this one was a refreshing new take. There were some clumsy parts to the story, and I look forward to seeing the author grow.

Totally different time travel plot. Interesting and entertaining with great characters and action. Also a hint of mystery and malice. Enjoy.

Not horrible, but not as good as it could have been. Someone is given the chance to go back and possibly change the worst thing that happened in their life, and the first thing he does is... Pick up a stranger? Next he falls in love with her? Really?

Second thing he does is try to avert a terrible wrong that will happen in the next three years - an event that has nothing to do with the reason he went back in the first place. He spends many
hours planning how to avert that disaster, but when it comes down to changing the horrible thing that happened to him and his family, he has no plan whatsoever. Even though he was given 6 months to get ready for it. Too busy being in love, I guess.

There were some good parts that allow me to give it 2 stars, but I doubt I will read any of the other books in this series.

I just completed the whole series of 6 books. I throughly enjoyed this series and you will get hooked from book #1. I'm so glad I found this author. It's been awhile to find a author so closely matched to Dean Koontz! This series is riveting, an excellent twist on time travel then the norm. It pits good verses evil and you find yourself rooting for the underdog Martin. I don't want to release any spoilers, but each book finishes with an explosive ending that only makes you dive into the next book asap! Suggest buying the whole series at once..you won't regret it...I'm just sorry it ended...excellent series!

The story starts on a morbid suicidal character mourning the loss of a daughter who subsequently gets the opportunity to time travel. The story contains theories that appear elsewhere in similar books but has its own twists that make it a compulsive read.

I have a very bad habit: reading the 1, 2, and 3 star ratings first. Soooo glad I ignored them this time. I do like stories that look at time travel and needless to say not all pass muster, especially when the book becomes a series. So far I have read the first three and just purchased the 4th and must leave it until bedtime. The books are a light read moving quickly. Not always my first choice, it depends what life is throwing at me, but just what I need at the moment. I would say to those quick to dismiss persevere, although the minute the main character walked into a shop selling bric-a-brac / antiques I was hooked. I owned a similar business for a few years and anyone that does not step back in time when they look at antiques lacks a soul. The author claims he reads the feedback. Hoping he does when I mention the basement where Chris houses the kidnapped Road Runners. Kept in the basement for months minus flushing toilet facilities need I say more. Don't let the comment put off prospective readers. The moment is easily missed and might say more about me than the story. As an avid reader from an early age, fiction and non fiction, and now retired, I do find readers that appear to take their pleasure from finding spelling and word errors wearing. Are they published authors or professional moaners? The former are showing off and the latter should try writing a book. Life is short, take what is good from a book and move on. I intend to look at another series written by the author.
