Nanny For Two: A Single Dad Second Chance Romance (New York Nanny Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 205 ratings

Being a nanny for a hot, wealthy, single New York photographer definitely has its benefits.

Henry is rich. Henry is successful. Henry is handsome. But Henry is a widower with a small child who needs help, pronto. He and especially his son, Leo, are struggling, and need someone who can make sense of their topsy-turvy life.

Mouse is like a breath of fresh air, and she gets Leo, who really likes her as well. What Henry didn’t count on was that he would really start to like Mouse, and find himself unable to live without her. His girlfriend and Mouse’s ex aren’t particularly happy about this turn of events, either.

It’s summer in New York City, and things are heating up. This is Henry's second chance at love, but he needs to be careful he doesn’t get burned, and more importantly, that Leo doesn’t get caught in the middle.

What Readers Are Saying

“I loved this book. I went through all the emotions, happiness, sadness and anticipation.”

“It was sooo good, one of the ones you read in a day and ignore everything else.”

“The odds of THREE attractive, sexy men wanting a simple, petite, ordinary-looking, quite unspectacular twenty-one year old young woman who was practically a virgin IS a fairytale. Of course in fiction, anything goes, and nothing is impossible.”

I was born in Japan, raised in central California, and am now lucky enough to live in New York City. I've wanted to write for so long, and decided to celebrate my birthday by finally doing it! Anyone, everyone who wants to, DO IT. Write what you love, what makes you happy, otherwise what's the point? There's nothing like getting a tearful text from an advance copy beta reader asking, "Why?? Why did you do that to her?!" Being a substitute teacher for fifteen years gave me some good ideas for what today's younger readers would enjoy, and I hope you do :o)

Enjoyed myself reading it and would recommend it... Great storyline ... Wondering if there is a continuous book bout the characters

This is just a good ol' fashioned romance and I was SO in the mood for that today! With all that's going on in the world, it's just lovely to lose yourself in a world with a great love story. It was nice to see Henry fall for the regular girl and Mouse was a very relatable character. Their POVs did change mid-chapter without a section break but once I realized that, it was easy enough to follow the narratives. Both characters are challenged with believable obstacles, some more heart-wrenching than others. I'm always torn on age gap romances--I like some better than others--but this one was done really well. All in all, a great read to immerse yourself in on a lazy weekend afternoon. Looking forward to reading the next one!

Loved this book. Sweet story with great characters. Storyline moved quickly. Had to get more of these characters -- I immediately bought the sequel, which I also loved reading. I will definitely be re-reading this book and sequel in the future. I will be looking for more books by this author to purchase.

Sadly it doesn't live up to its promise. I won't be reading the 2nd book. Hero kisses nanny twice while still with his girlfriend. Heroine strings ex along knowing he wanted more with her. None of them had any chemistry with each other.

I loved this book! I felt like I was actually there and could feel all the characters emotions. I couldn’t help but read this book everyday until it was finished. I just ordered the nanny reimagined and I can’t wait to start it!!

I'm a sucker for a cute kid and a loving dad! Can't wait for the sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet romance
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 25, 2021
    No plot spoilers
    No potential triggers
There are some errors, such as missing words etc and a few misspelled words, which although irritating they don't kill the book.
It's a sweet romance, a vignette of the start of a relationship. The plotline meanders a bit, but it's well written and easy to read.
The characterisation is okay, I must admit Henry is not actually very likeable and didn't strike me as someone I would particularly care to meet or keep as a friend.
The female lead, Mouse, is a total paragon of virtue. She knows the answer to just about everything and is able to cope admirably with just about any situation (more like a thirty or forty year old in maturity)
Leo is supposedly four going on forty four, and although I obviously realised the draw of a precocious child in a book, just can't see a four year old having some of the interactions and conversations Lexi does.
There are a couple of sex scenes and a little swearing.
The author ensures plenty of 'happy' moments which act as counterbalance to some of the sad moments but overall I found the book almost too sweet to read at times.
I don't think I will be purchasing the next book, dealing with their wedding plans etc because I keep wanting to text Mouse and advise her to drop Henry off the nearest roof.
