A great resource for parents with kids ranging in ages from 6 to 18

A great resource for parents with kids ranging in ages from 6 to 18
"100 Ways to Motivate Kids: No and Low Cost" by Julie Polanco is a great resource for parents with kids ranging in ages from 6 to 18. The book is broken up into sections, beginning with fun activities for 6-7 year-olds to do. The next section is for 8-12 year-olds, and the last section is for teens. Each age group suggests different activities for outdoor fun, science, art, language arts, history, and math all in fun and meaningful ways for kids to learn. This would be a great book for parents with kids of multiple ages so they could do some of the projects together. Some ideas can be done without much planning, but some will need additional resources which can be found online. Mostly the activities can be done with things around the house without much, if any, additional cost. Disclosure: I received a paperback book and I am voluntarily sharing my review.

With so many "unintended homeschoolers" out there, Julie's ideas are simple enough that even the most stressed-out and overwhelmed parent can breathe easy and find some easy-to-do activities to both entertain and teach their kiddos! The book is divided up by age (6-7, 8-12, teens) so you can easily locate activities appropriate for your needs. I also love that most of them are tech-free and leave plenty of room for adapting, tweaking, and being-creative-with! A welcome jolt in the arm for seasoned homeschoolers, and a great jumping-off point for new ones... Now go have fun with your kids! :-)

100 Ways to Motivate Kids: No and Low Cost book is truly a godsend!! As a patron of Ms. Julie Polanco, and owner of her other books, including "Godschooling" and "The Secret Spice" from her history and science living books series; I have been so eager and excited to see what genius ideas lay beyond the pages of this book. And as expected, I was not disappointed!! Julie put together an incredible resource for moms, dads, grandparents and even older siblings who may feel stuck with trying to find ways to inspire their children. Whether you are a homeschool mom like me, or your children are traditional schooled, the suggestions in this book are amazing, and simple enough to incorporate into your daily life. One of the things I love the most is Julie divides each of the suggestions under various "subjects" so you know a particular idea that you are using is reaching the exact areas your child needs, and that is apart of life learning. For example, The option for "invite a missionary to your home" is under the topic of Social Sciences; and what better way to expose your child to the mission field than to have a person who has experienced it firsthand share their life with your family. Overall, Julie really did a superb job of making the book very simplistic, perfectly sized to fit in your purse if you need to whip it out on the go! If you are needing ideas to make learning truly come alive to your kids, I encourage you, this book is exactly what you want and need!!!

What an amazing jewel! This book is the perfect tool for moms, homeschool parents, or anyone who wants to help create a love for learning with children. We have skimmed through and picked activities based on our current homeschool lessons and they are so easy to prep and complete. This will be a lifesaver during summertime when the kids are complaining they are bored. I'm so excited to have this in my "mom bag" to keep them learning and engaged. I'm definitely using this as a gift for all my mom friends!

I think I've tried everything and this book still surprised me. These were actionable suggestions that you could use right away to change the dynamic with your own kids and get them excited about learning and exploring again. Everyone wants to do things that they are more interested in - even kids. She gives suggestions to make things interesting without feeling like you are putting on a show.

I like this book. It is a very easy to read book. It gives different ways to motivate children. The activities given were divided by age group (6-8yrs, 8-12 yrs and teenager). It is very useful especially when you are homeschooling. I used some of the activities here with my 5 year old daughter. Both of us, had fun with the outdoor activities given. Highly recommend this book.

What a treasure this book is! Because of the pandemic, almost everything is still closed where I live so we have had to get very creative and I was just out of ideas but this book is FULL of so many fun and cheap (another plus) ideas to do with the whole family! I love how it is broken down into age groups and subjects. Very easy to read! Really practical ideas but still different and exciting! We aren't completely through with the book just yet because we have really been taking our time with each activity but my daughter and I have been enjoying this book so much and the different ideas and it's been a very great way to bond together. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who needs to entertain or motivate kids ages 5 and up!

If you are new to homeschooling or struggling with your kids after this last year of distance learning, this book is a great assist! "100 Ways to Motivate Kids: No and Low Cost" by Julie Polanco is broken up into sections by age, 6 to 18. There are activities for science, art, language arts, history, math and outdoor fun that I absolutely loved. I hear a lot from parents about keeping kid of different ages entertained and this book has ideas on how to do that without a big plan or shelling out cash to keep the kids busy because most of the activities use items you can find around the home.

Disclosure: I received a paperback book and enjoyed it so much I’m sharing my review.
