Anyone, everyone who wants to, DO IT. Write what you love, what makes you happy, otherwise what's the point? There's nothing like getting a tearful text from an advance copy beta reader asking, "Why?? Why did you do that to her?!" Being a substitute teacher for fifteen years gave me some good ideas for what today's younger readers would enjoy, and I hope you do :o)

    I have read this book at least once every 4 months since I purchased it a few years ago. That alone should stand up for what an awesome story this is. If I ever won the lottery and could do something completely impractical and just for the joy of it, it'd be getting this book made into an audiobook, and/or having it and Finding His Touch turned into movies. I LOVE the characters, I love the story, the romance warms my heart, breaks it, then puts it back together. Yes, the characters are high school age, so? I'm 36 years old and I still don't feel like a grown-up, so I read it with the joy my teenage self would have felt. If you like meet-cutes, secret love, first-time love, rich boy/poor girl, or any of those sort of stories, this has them all. And drama, trauma, and a lot more too.

    This is my second Hanes book, I believe I'm reading out of order, but as the first in the series, it is a gem.
    I am a Tani Hanes convert, and forever fan after reading this and the next in the series. A true, well plotted, fully realized cast of characters that are living a real, messy life. Ultimately it is of course a romance, and happily the love is not outshone by the sex, but instead the well written and even demure descriptions of the sex, enhances the love between the characters and shows a true connection between them.
    It is also a story about a young girl who has many of the same issues that all young girls have, body image problems, peer trouble, and the pressures that all teens face when they are put under any kind of microscope.
    I recommend this to anyone that likes their romances to be realistic and relatable.
