After working at an insurance company's home office, having helped create a successful department, Robert Wills took a position in Financial Control with a mutual fund firm. In later years, deciding to leave the corporate environment, he accepted a position in journalism with a local, small-town newspaper, where he enjoyed writing human interest articles. He continues to work with the publication in advertising, and graphic design. Robert believes that words and behaviours that we express towards others are of great importance in creating a positive interaction with all people he meets.
.
Robert Wills and Rachael Kasper have collaborated on various creative and entertainment endeavours over the past few years. They have written short stories that were an exercise in collaborative teamwork and shared among a group of like-minded wordsmiths. In addition to their partnership in writing, they form two of a trio that records a weekly syndicated variety radio show that is now, heard ‘round the world. The show is unique in that it is ad lib and unedited. They were honoured in a special session of the Vermont State House of Representatives. By a concurrent house resolution (HR 10), Timeless Oldies Variety Show and its hosts Dex Rowe, Robert Wills, and Rachael Kasper were given special recognition. Their innovative utilization of internet technologies, personal expertise and enjoyment of music spanning a century, serves to entertain people around the world. Currently, Timeless Oldies Variety Show is heard in 67 countries and carried on eight radio stations that use traditional broadcasting and internet streaming. The show is offered free of charge to the hosting stations and remains commercial-free and non-profit. The projects that appeal most to Robert and Rachael as a collaborative team are spontaneous, inspiring, and creative ventures that touch the heart.
Drawing from a diverse set of interests, Rachael brings her nursing skills and knowledge of medical history to the table with this project. Her study and experience as a historical re-enactor and portraying women’s roles in living history events give her a first-hand perspective on society’s evolution with time. Over the years, she has written in several genres about nursing from the perspectives of the patient, family, and caregiver. Rachael lives with brain damage and the debilitating effects of fibromyalgia, and she works hard to inspire herself to prove that every day can have moments of success in spite of insurmountable odds.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2021CUP is Compelling!
It was easy to become steeped in Ellen’s world and become emotionally invested in the many challenges she faced as she struggled to heal from her terrible past. Despite communication skills that at first may have been described as “limited”, the reader comes to appreciate Ellen’s beautiful nature and her effect on those she meets.
The authors transported me into Ellen’s world and also into the minds and hearts of her rescuers, especially Anna Thorpe. I felt like I was part of the household and was fascinated by life in the Thorpe’s small English town in the 1920’s. Maids, merchants, tradespeople, clergy, etc all came to life and each influenced the outcome of Ellen’s life. That is one of the gifts of CUP. It demonstrates that positive interactions, even slight ones, can make a difference in the healing o a hurting soul. I found myself thinking of Ellen, the Thorpe family and William weeks after finishing the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2019CUP is an interesting novel set in England after the First World War. Times and attitudes were changing and that is picked up in this novel, as well as its companion, "CUP: The Continuation". At first glance, the size of the books is daunting, but two or three chapters into them, the reading becomes a steady flow and difficult to put down, as one chapter feeds into the next. I was always hurrying back to see where it was leading and what would happen next. On a historical level, while a novel, the books point out the tribulations of a society where the handicapped, though many, were ignored or shunned, or simply put away. The books also invite the reader to think about the difficulties of a life cut off from the primary senses and to experience pain and loss, but also joy at simple accomplishments. I urge others to read these books and present your own opinions in reviews and comments. I think you will find them to be worthwhile reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2021"Cup" is a charming period piece that will have you falling in love with the heroine and cringing in pain and disbelief at her trials. I like it very, very much.
