Writing found me, not the other way around. In third grade a teacher asked me to help write a play for the class to put on for a school assembly. The bug bit firmly and permanently.

Among my favorite things is having coffee with a friend, cooking Korean food, and trying to figure out my two cats.

Among the high points of my travels were visiting Mayan pyramids, Roman forts, Gothic churches and the Eiffel Tower. I even got to stand where Charlemagne once held court. Oh, and I walked the Freedom Trail in Boston.

There's still a lot more I want to see.

Another Conard County: The Next Generation installment that focuses on nurse Haley McKinsey when she returns to her grandmother's house, which she has inherited, to clean it out. Will she stay or go back to Baltimore? She isn't sure, but is leaning toward staying until she wakes to catch a glimpse of a peeping Tom in her window, an event that sends her mind whirling back to when she was 5 and was kidnapped.

As she continues to go through her grandmother's things, Haley gets to know the neighbor boy, now a man, one Roger McLeod, whom she remembers from when she used to visit her grandmother. They become friends and he worries about how much that peeping Tom has wrecked Haley's sense of safety.

When she drives to an airport to visit a friend, however, she is run off the road and almost killed. When the sheriff concludes it was no accident, no one knows who it might have been until the perpetrator delivers something to the door and Haley hears his voice: the same voice of the kidnapper.

How this all plays out is face-paced but predictable.

The author captures your imagination and runs with it happily to the end. The plot was well done and the future is remarkable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read but a major editing issue

I do love visiting conrad county. And this was a good read. A major edit problem though. Early in the book we hear that the hero's dad is living with his brother. Later in the book it says he died of a heart attack
