Suspense chills to family hearth warming in this Alaska adventure.

Suspense chills to family hearth warming in this Alaska adventure.
Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse keep this story hopping, never remiss of incorporating some golden nuggets of Christian faith. I like that. Three farm sisters surely means two more books for “The Treasures of Nome” series to wrap up all threads.A farm outside Nome, Alaska, holds a family of three generations eking out survival in a 1904 world of gold-seekers and the corruption that accompanied an area overcrowded with unsuccessful miners. The closeness of the family and their faith is enough to warm the hearts of anyone reading this delightful historical interpretation of life in the cold arctic. Love, loss, murder, deceit, music, and medicine form trails through the snow accompanying a farm menagerie of milk cows, chickens, sheep, and of course, sled dogs. My media complimentary copy kept me engrossed from the prologue. This story’s worth a gold nugget or two.

Ms. Tracie, Ms. Kimberley,
I love and adore your stories, Alaska anything gets my attention. This amazing story of love, loss ,hope took me on an amazing journey. I'm always in your stories, especially Alaska ( my list of places to visit). About 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and have now begun suffering with chronic full body pain, migraines, eye disease, joint replacement. Enough, that's to let you know the joy of going to Nome with John Roselli and meeting Chuck, Melissa ( why did she need to die), Whitney, Hayvn sweet Masdyn . My eyes get cloudy, and my device spells words wrong, forgive me. Chuck Bundrant, a strong loving man, gave is all for his daughter Melissa and then the lovely three redhead granddaughters. Melissa fell in love with and married Christopher Powell, a gambler, drunk and womanizer. When Chuck found out what was going on, he paid and paid Chris's debts, hid his secrets until he discovered Chris had started another life and family. After one of Christ's drunken brothel or saloon fights he and Chuck thought it best he was declared dead. Chuck a wealthy gold miner, sold his mine in Cripple Creek, Colorado and moved Melissa and the girls to Nome Alaska. John Roselli shows up on an errand from his grandfather Gussippe Roselli ( Nanno), to Chuck Bundrant. John arrives in muddy town, full of bad people like Judas Reynolds( in sheep clothing) with little money, was given a Little for helping with the dogs he traveled on to get to Nome, because of the time too much ice for ships. John a kind loving young man of God has his few coins stolen by a young woman from a brothel begging! Not until later did he realize what she had done. He goes to mission and meet Dr. Gordon, who sends him to Chuck Bundrant's Dairy farm, turns out he is same person his grandfather had sent him to see! John arrives at the farm and before entering the barn heard someone praying and asking for forgiveness. Okay, I have a habit of telling too much. Chuck is stricken with Apoplexy, and Melissa's Asthma and added Whooping cough land them both bedridden. Ladies, cannot wait for what's next, sadly Melissa's illness takes her life, same day Christopher Powell returns from death. The bright event Havyn and John got married. Thank you so much for these wonderful God filled stories. I should be doing, the audible but I love reading your words! Stay safe! I read some many books last year ( 2020, they make me soar). May God continue to bless and keep you both, I had put this story off long enough!

A family whose life was made more difficult by secrets. A wife and mother who loved her children but had a very unrealistic view of her husband. A beloved grandfather who clung too rigidly to secrets, instead of believing God who said, the truth shall set you free. In the end things worked for good but the need for healing remains.

We often why tribulations come to us in this life. I loved how each character faced each hardship and challenge. At the funeral, the Pastor explained it perfectly. We live in a fallen and difficult world. But as John explained, our hope, peace, and joy comes in knowing Jesus died in our place so that we may live in assurance of our our future home in heaven with him. I loved this in the book. I recommend it to everyone. It makes our own difficult life seem so easy because we are all can be assured of all things working for our our good if we love and obey the direction of Jesus, our savior and Lord.

Once again Tracie has written a wonderful book. I love that her books are Christian and have a lesson in each of them. The romance is done tastefully but with impact. This book made we want to own chickens and live on a farm. If you want a nice easy read with great character development and an enriching love story, Forever Hidden is well worth the read!

I’ve always been a fab of Tracie Peterson books. This one didn’t disappoint!
I love the mystery of the secrets and how everything is interwoven. I love the fact that not all the secrets are revealed in the end of this book and I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series. The emphasis on in the importance of family is great as well as love of family leading to secrets. A fabulous book that I would highly recommend.

Forever Hidden is book one in The Treasures of Nome series, and was written by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse.
Summary: Havyn Powell loves the dairy farm her family owns outside of Nome, Alaska. They have a good life, and a close-knit family.
But, her grandfather’s sudden health issues have thrown a wrench into everything. Without his guidance and knowledge, Havyn and her sisters have no idea how their grandfather managed the farm, or even how he paid the workers. Bills are piling up, and if Havyn doesn’t come up with a solution fast, the farm may not be able to stay in business.
John Roselli made a promise to his grandfather to deliver a package, and he intends to keep that promise-even if it means spending his last dime to get to Nome to do it. He arrives penniless, and in need of a job. Agreeing to help out at the dairy farm, John does his best to help the Powells stay afloat, but has he taken on more than he can handle?
Will Havyn and John be able to do enough to save the family farm? Will someone from town thwart their efforts? And what does John really know of the secrets surrounding the Powell family’s past?
My Thoughts: This book was just OK for me. It is a bit sad in places, but I liked Havyn’s creativity in coming up with ways to help her family-it made for some fun and interesting plot twists. It was also really interesting to read about the mystery surrounding the Powells and their past.
I don’t know that I would read it again, as it just didn’t hit the sweet spot for me, but it was interesting, and these authors always do a wonderful job storytelling.
I would like to thank Bethany House for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you.
