Taming Her Mountain Man: A Grumpy/Sunshine romance (Bear's Tooth Mountain Men series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 288 ratings

I found the curvy goddess in the woods one day, searching for her ugly orange cat. I thought I made her up. There's no way such a pretty young thing is real.

I end up following her back to her newly-acquired cabin. She talks the whole way back, mostly to me, but sometimes to her cat, Morty. The girl talks to animals and lives in the forest. She’s practically Snow White.

Adelyn is too young, too gorgeous, and too innocent for the likes of me. I'll ruin her with my darkness. I'll suck up every last drop of her goodness until I wring her dry. And I can't do that. She deserves so much more than I have to offer.

The bubbly woman has other ideas.. It seems that I can't get rid of her, and as time goes on, I find I don't want to. We're opposites in every way, but I can't deny her for much longer. I only hope she doesn't hate me when she finds out about my past.

What to expect from a Cameron Hart book: Curvy heroines, protective alphas, lots of heat, and plenty of sweet. No cheating, safe, guaranteed HEA!

Tall, dark, brooding, handsome, Mountain Man? ... Where do I sign up?!
Taking Her Mountain Man is the first book in the Bear's Tooth Mountain Men series.

Adelyn is a quirky, cheerful ray of sunshine, while Kade is a reclusive cave-man who gives grunts and one-word answers. What could these two possibly have in common? Enough chemistry to set your tablet on FIRE!
The writing and quick-witted word use were great! I loved the emotion that could be felt coming through the pages.

My favorite quote, “I have no idea what he has to be nervous about. If I had a body like his, I’d just walk around naked all the time.”

Adelyn and Kade's story is a lot of back and forth. It's not so much from Adelyn's side is from Kade's. He is older and feels she deserves better then him. He is fighting the demons of his past. Their story no matter how much back and forth it is worth reading this book. What lies ahead for these two? Will two separate peoples lives become one?

This is the first book I’ve read of this author but it won’t be the last! I’m so excited there are more stories in this series and that the next one is about Brooklyn!!
In Taming Her Mountain Man, our h is a sweet, innocent, perfectly curvy young woman. She starting her life out anew when she runs into our H- he’s the strong silent type who immediately falls head over heals!!
I loved how patient he was with her inexperience and how patient she was with his insecurities!! Together they made a perfect match!

While I did really enjoy this, the last 15% of the book lost me a bit. It wasn’t bad by any means, it just wasn’t my taste. But I really liked both Kade and Adelyn. I love that this was a dual POV book, getting to read both of their thoughts was really helpful to the story.

Kade’s POV specifically was my favourite, his thoughts made me laugh out loud multiple times. The way they met was sweet, as was them getting to know each other. I also really loved Adelyn’s reaction to see Kade’s workshop for the first time.

I’m really excited to continue the story. I adored seeing Brooklyn in this book, and can’t wait to read her book.

When I think I've found my favorite book by Cameron Hart, here comes yet another that I fall in love with! This was such a sweet and perfect read. I adored it from start to finish.

I really loved Kade and how caring and protective he was. Adelyn was just precious talking to Morty all the time, and sometimes even the plants. And Morty the grumpy cat was my fav. The reason that I didn’t give this 5 stars was because I felt like Kade’s backstory was glossed over when his whole motivation for not being with her was because of who he’d been and what he’d done, but it was barely mentioned. There was no reasoning for why he’d been that person or why he stopped. Also, the heroine escapes her parents but there’s nothing to say what happened with them after. Otherwise, I loved it.

This is a short and sweet book. 2 broken souls finding each other and are drawn to each other even if one thinks they are not good enough for the other. There is an age gap but it also shows you can't always help who you fall in love with and love helps to heal. Spice level 4.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hot mountain man action
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 29, 2021
    No plot spoilers
    No potential triggers
There are a few grammatical and editorial errors but not enough to kill the book
There are some sex scenes and some swearing
The characterisation is okay, the storyline flows well which means that the story of falling in love is a smooth read.
I would probably read more by this author.
