The characters have a past that drew my attention and held it during the ups and downs of their reconciliation. We learned a bit more about Alonzo and the prep school past as well.
Elena Rollins finds herself in a bind when the story she needs to make this tabloid columnist career that she's trying to get off the ground prosper leads her straight into the life of her former lover.
Gage Striker is a rich and powerful guy, but he calms down rather quickly and is willing to give Elena a chance to make amends for her subterfuge ... all while participating in a little deception himself!
I highly recommend this book and this series as a whole if you like a good bit of drama with your romance. We're uncovering secrets as we go along and will eventually get to the bottom of what Alonzo was up to.

Light Captivating Novel
Book Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 starsMy book club “Wine, Women and Words of the North Shore” had the pleasure of zooming with Ms.Joanne Rock the writer of Mesa Falls Heartbreaker. Her passion for writing translates in her books. This book is part of the Dynasties series of 6 Mesa Fall books that include the following: The Rebel, The Rival, Rule Breaker, Heartbreaker, The Rancher and The Heir. I enjoyed Heartbreaker and did not want to put it down especially since it is a lighter read then I am used to and this made it a fun read for me.You will fall in love with the main characters Gage Striker and Elena Rollins. There is so much unspoken and of course spoken passion between them. Elena had a childhood that was very heartbreaking and worked hard to overcome most of her challenges. Gage was a man brought up with wealth but seeks to separate from his controlling father and make it on his own. He is part of a group of friends who possess a secret that they have managed to keep across time. A secret that many have tried to unearth to no avail.Twists and turns abound in this novel which is filled with secrets, deception, love, passion and so much more. If you are looking for a light captivating book this is definitely one I recommend.

“Heartbreaker” is part of the Dynasties: Mesa Falls miniseries by Joanne Rock and features Gage Striker and Elena Rollins. When we first met them in “The Rival”, you just knew they would be combustible together.
After being apart for six years, the chemistry is still there, but neither have any intention of giving in to it. Gage needs to make sure Elena doesn’t find out the truth about Alonzo Salazar, while Elena is focused on reestablishing her social media career. Gage and Elena’s past, and the mistrust that came with it, threatens to come between them and stop them from finding their happily-ever-after the second time around.
“Heartbreaker” gives little insight into the background of Alonzo and the owners of Mesa Falls since we already learned the secret they are keeping (or have we?). It also introduces a new character, and a new scandal, the owners of Mesa Falls Ranch will have to face next.
