Ready, Set, I Do! Keeps readers deeply enveloped in the welcoming environment that Jackson Hole offers. Hailey Randall is a a speech pathologist hoping to land a full-time job at the hospital. Hailey has just recently broken up with a boyfriend that cared more about her connections than their relationship. Hailey is Tripp’s sister. Winston Ferris is Hailey’s neighbor and is still trying to stay on top of his busy, demanding career. Along comes to pretty big wrench in the plans in the form of Winn’s stepson, Cameron. Winn has to shuffle to find childcare for Cameron and Hailey seems to fit the bill. Both have a lot of past issues and hurt feelings while trying to help Cam deal with his grief.
Both of these stories make you fall even more in love with Jackson Hole and it’s eclectic residents. Cindy knows how to draw readers in and she got me hook, line and sinker. I’m ready see what happens next in this lovely, little town.
Add in precocious kids and loveable dogs and you have two winning stories. Two great stories with strong, but sometimes struggling dads trying to do the best for their kid, while juggling work, home, and dogs.
Bring in strong heroines, who not only love dogs, but are drawn to the children who live next door, and you have a recipe for finding love with the single dad who isn’t afraid to ask for help. Plus, you get to revisit old friends, who now feel like family, from previous Jackson Hole books.
