Good story
My 13 yr old son isn’t happy unless he’s got a book series that he is working through and he reads these in about a week and a half so I think they are good. He tries to read them slow as he can because buying these books isn’t easy. They are really expensive compared to other book series. But he says the story is capturing and a good one. I love the idea of having a library myself but he prefers to own the books also because he rereads series when he is down a book..

I saw that this series is listed as young adult epic fantasy fiction but let me tell you, I’m nowhere near being a YA and I love this series, imho, it’s written as well as Harry Potter and is far more fascinating.

This third book starts off with a darker mood and I was wondering if I would like it as much as the first two books. Then Oh. My. God...the training as third year students at Ranger school starts and so does the action and adventures. Lasgol’s test took my breath away and kept me pinned to my iPad. Just wow. The result was as much a surprise for me as it was for the characters in the story. The only thing I would point out is that now knowing Lasgol, he would have asked the Ranger who created the test how the archer was his father, was he placed their by the illusionist and if so for what purpose. The results of this test was excruciatingly difficult for the remaining close friends of the Snow Panther team. I had tears in my eyes with the instructor’s choice for Egil. That scene was beautifully drawn out and brought together.

I really appreciate that the author creates a real learning environment for the students and shows that mastering a skill takes time, effort, dedication and tedious repetition. It makes everything so believable. The descriptions of the harsh environment of the frozen tundra, how the students apply what they have learned to help survive the killing cold, the explanations of divisions and formations of the different battalions: Calvary, Archers, Infantry, Lancers and the Rangers, it’s all spellbinding. Then the battle itself is so imaginative and exciting!

The plot twists are everywhere and the reading addictive. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait for the next book to come out since the entire series is available. This was a wonderful Kindle Unlimited suggestion.

As always, the war was ugly and brutal but was a crucial part of the narrative. There have been plenty of losers but, 3 books in, still no overall winner. One thing that I would really like to see is some evolution in the map of Tremia as we learn more as the story progresses. Recommending to all D&D minded readers.

Wow! I need to remember that Mystery in the Tundra is only the third book in the series: The Path of the Ranger. Excellent storytelling by Mr. Urvi. It was a little graphic for me in a few places (description of a bloody battle), but it wasn't overwhelming, so I continued with the story. Part of the mystery with Camu was solved and Lasgol faces some difficult decisions about where his loyalty lies and what school of which he wants to belong. I admire the dedication to his teammates even though Viggo is one who is highly annoying. But Viggo is a valuable member of the team. I heartily recommend this series for anyone who likes good fantasy, especially The Lord of the Rings series.

The opening was simply spectacular so much action and adventure in it.

With the start of the third year in training to be Rangers again you have to see just who or what is behind everything. I hobe as you don't know who is good and who is bad anymore. The books have been screwing with my mind.

It's great as I love the screwing with the good and bad as it really pushes boundaries. I think it's one of the best parts in fantasy and especially this series.

The story is fast paced which I did like as it kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters also are great and I am really enjoying Mirta.

Viggo is annoying me a lot in this book. He seems just to be quick to action but no thought process to what he should do.

The battle scenes were well done without being too gruesome and I loved the magical creatures that they show. Definitely not expected.

This book made me feel so many different emotions. Betrayal at what occurs but also seeing a nice side that the team finally trusts each other and realizes that they are together and will be better served staying that way.

This is part of a long series of easy reading books, which like the others I have read, held my attention throughout.
The story moves along at a good pace, with sufficient background detail without it being obsessive.
The timing of some of the events seems fortuitous, in that, the key apprentice Ranger is home on holiday, when he is able to travel to a far off land and still return to his training venue just in time for the new term.
The characters throughout this and the previous books are well suited for a long running series and I look forward to continuing my own journey to complete the series.
