Ears to Hear: Christian Thriller (A Special Heroes Book 2) Kindle Edition
Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense finalist
Amelia's brother, Gabriel, hears things - practically everything. His autism gives him savant auditory abilities. He heard the men who were planning to kill them in the park. It could have ended there. But Amelia couldn't leave and let them catch the mysterious man who saved them.
In a madcap turn of events, the artisan jam maker finds herself experiencing the life and death struggle of espionage. But things are getting even more intense. The agents want Gabriel and Amelia to help bring down a powerful organization that is using genetic testing in an antisemitic plot. Did God plan Gabriel's gift for such a time as this? They will need God on their side because someone else is in the game, and the other side's plan might equal two wrongs with no right in sight.
The more she discovers, the more Amelia grows to trust and care for the mysterious man. But even his skills might not have prepared him for this type of foe or the bizarre twist the mission takes. As circumstances suck Amelia and Gabe farther into the operation, she realizes what they face threatens the deepest fabric of humanity and will challenge how the team members view life itself.

It’s a great book, well written, and no plot holes. All my questions got answered and it ended perfectly. You won’t be disappointed!
Kent Wyatt writes Christian suspense novels. The Christianity and the suspense are purposefully and carefully designed into the architecture of his books. Kent Wyatt’s love for people, both real and fictional, brightens his paragraphs as he addresses a list of significant spiritual issues.
Even though Ears to Hear is Kent Wyatt’s second book, few seasoned writers know how to mix action, respite and surprise to keep readers in an off-balanced crescendo of nerves. I was already thinking, OK, let’s get our team out of there, when yet another surprise jumped at me.
I like when a book does what movies cannot. For example: the fight in the dark. Kent Wyatt offers pages of explosions, faint scraping, body sounds, burning nerve-ends, the impact of heavy things, sharp things, and things small but penetrating. We feel their fatigue. Our fingers, slick with something warm and sticky, lose their grip on the textured clothing of twisting, hot enemies. Visually? A tiny power-button light that periodically disappears when something menacing passes before it. Try pulling that off in a movie.
Near the end of the book, it was nice to run into some characters from Seeing Beyond, the first Special Heroes book. They are well and doing fine, I am pleased to report, making plans for more special heroes to come.
I recommend you get Ears to Hear. You know what makes Gabriel special; read what makes him a hero. I leave to you also the less-difficult question of which guy ends up with which girl.
